The Mexican state of Baja California has become one of the temples of off-road competitions on the planet. 60 years of history guarantee its relevance and importance, a milestone difficult to achieve without the support and continued promotion of the National Off-Road Racing Association (NORRA)main event organizer at the location since 1967.
That is why next year, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the entity, it has prepared a very special rally. In fact, they have classified it as their most ambitious project to date: the NORRA 10 Day Baja Rally. Without a doubt a unique and unrepeatable way to commemorate six decades of bravery, adventure and tradition in racing.
NORRA 10 Day Baja Rally: off-road at its finest
If you have ever dreamed of holding an epic rally in Baja California, write down this date: from April 27 to May 8, 2027. Those are the days chosen by NORRA to celebrate its 60th anniversary with what they have named “NORRA 10 Day Baja Rally.” The organization explains that it has been designed as “a real peninsular challenge” with beginning and end in Ensenada.
“The competitors will travel through Baja California from end to end, living the experience of the extreme south in the purest rally style, and then heading north and fighting to return to the place where the legends were born,” they explain. It will be a test of endurance, strategy and mechanical preparation that will span the entire peninsula, and will become the longest rally in North America.
The motto of this rally is defined perfectly by the NORRA management: “This event is more than a race; it is a tribute to the spirit that gave rise to it. From the original Mexican 1000 to modern rally competition, NORRA has always been created by drivers, for drivers. The NORRA Baja 10 Day Rally honors that foundation while pushing what is possible in North American off-road competition to the limit.”
All participants will have to drive through different scenarios between mountains, deserts, beaches, technical sections, high-speed terrain and remote towns. Of course, surrounded by the wild beauty that only Baja can offer. Of course any fan interested in participating will have their place in this emblematic event.
Planning has already begun and true to NORRA’s DNA, the 2027 event will be defined by competitor input on stage design, daily mileage, category structure, logistics and celebratory events. The mission remains clear: authenticity over advertising, adventure over ego, tradition over trends.
