Benda never misses an opportunity to show off a new model wherever it goes. The latest of these new models is the recently presented Dark Flag 950a bobber-style motorcycle that follows the design and technical line established by the brand in its latest models. Shown at the recently held Chongqing Motorcycle Exhibition, it joins the well-known Dark Flag 500 “the V4 cruiser that can revolutionize the market”.
We talked about the latter this summer; a cruiser-style motorcycle with a V4 engine that is causing a sensation and that has a revolutionary pneumatic rear suspension. Equipped with a 496cc V4the brand declares 54.5 hp of power at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 42 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
Benda Dark Flag 950: V4 engine and 102 hp
Now, thanks to our colleagues at Motorrad Online, we have met this new bobber that the Asian firm has presented. Although, initially, one might think that we are talking about an evolution of the Dark Flag 500, it looks like it is a derivative of the 1200 cc V4 engine that Benda showed to the public for the first time in 2021.
This mechanics of 930 cc follows the precepts set by the brand with the “half-litre” version of the model to the letter. That is, a V4 engine that for the occasion announces a maximum power of 102 HP at 9,000 rpm with a final torque of 85 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Performance figures that should easily move the 250 kilograms in running order which declares the Dark Flag 950, including the 16 liters of fuel that we can refuel in its tank.
The cycle part of the Dark Flag 950 It stands out for its robust chassis and swingarm, both made of steel. A conventional telescopic fork and a pair of shock absorbers make up the suspension system. For braking, this Dark Flag 950 opts for a pair of front discs gripped by radial-mount calipers signed by Brembo. All this is combined with a really complete level of equipment. Similar to what we already saw in its little sister:
- ABS system
- TFT display with connectivity
- Traction control
- Cruise control
- Full-LED lighting, etc.
It is very likely that the brand will include, as an option, an air suspension system, as well as a wide catalogue of additional accessories. All this for a price that, if it reaches Europe, should not exceed 10,000 euros in any case. All this raises the question of whether the latter will be possible sooner or later, given the gradual deployment of the brand in recent times, in commercial and logistical terms, within the old continent.
