San Javier’s pilot, Borja Gómez, was in France participating in the tests prior to the Europe 1000 Stock Championship, a category in which he competed this season with Team Honda Laglisse. Gomez arrived at the event as leader of the championship after his recent victory in Aragon.
With an outstanding trajectory from an early age, Borja Gómez began his career in 2014 competing in Minimotard, where he was third and then runner -up in Spain in the 65cc category. Subsequently, he made the leap to the Supermotard and in 2019 he achieved another third in the Kawasaki Cup.
In 2021, Spanish champion of Supersport was proclaimed and in 2022 he was national runner -up in Superbike 1000. That same year he debuted at the Moto2 World Cup, replacing Jorge Navarro in the Malaysia GP with the Flexbox HP40 team. He closed the season scoring in the last World Cup test, in Cheste.

His projection was clear and his constant evolution. After three seasons at the FIM JuniorGP (Repsol European Championship), this year he had made the leap to the European 1000 European, where he pointed out.
Death reactions have not been expected. The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, published a message of condolences in networks: “Shocked by the death of Borja Gómez. He had a great professional future and a lot of life ahead. Tristísima news. All my love and closeness to their family, friends, companions and neighbors of San Javier. Rest in peace”
