Brembo has been given an award and, curiously, it is not for its brakes

Without any doubt, when talking about Brembo It is inevitable to think about high-performance braking systems. However, the Italian firm has just demonstrated that its capacity for innovation goes much further. Your circuit analysis platform TrackTribe has been awarded a Red Dot Design Award. As we all know, one of the most prestigious industrial design awards in the world.

The recognition represents the fourth Red Dot for the transalpine company, and confirms the commitment of Brembo for developing new technologies aimed at improving the driving experience, not only through mechanical components, but also through intelligent data analysis.

Brembo creates a track engineer on your mobile

Officially presented during the past EICMA from Milan, TrackTribe was born with a very clear objective: to bring analysis tools specific to the competition to any fan who enjoys some rounds on the circuit. The system collects information during each session and sends it to an application to smartphone or tablet, where the pilot can review his performance in a simple and intuitive way.

Among the recorded parameters, lap times, braking intensity, inclination angle, acceleration and different data related to the motorcycle’s dynamics stand out, offering a very complete view of each round. All this to improve driving, lap by lap.

To do this, it uses a 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) along with a specific sensor to measure braking pressure, also using the electrical power of the motorcycle itself, without the need to incorporate additional batteries.

According to Brembo: “Special attention has been paid to the design of the interface and user experience, to ensure ease of use and accessibility to an increasingly wide audience“The award also recognizes aspects such as functionality, design quality, durability, sustainability and accessibility of the system.

Andrea Dovizioso’s experience

For the development of TrackTribe, Brembo had the collaboration of one of the most experienced pilots in modern motorcycling, Andrea Dovizioso. The former Italian driver participated in the tests carried out on the circuit, contributing his experience after more than 2 decades at the highest level. “dovi“He was 3 times runner-up in the world of MotoGP, and starred in some of the most memorable duels against Marc Marquez during his time as official pilot of Ducati.

Their knowledge allowed us to adjust the operation of the system so that the information offered was truly useful during each circuit day.

Until now, the Red Dot obtained by Brembo had fallen on some of its most recognized products, such as radial pumps 19RCS Corse Short and Race Replica, or the epic clamp GP4 MotoGP. With TrackTribethe Italian company demonstrates that the future of performance does not depend solely on improving mechanical components, but also on offering tools capable of interpreting what is happening on the motorcycle and helping the rider to improve on each lap.
