Last weekend in Cremona, Nicolo Bulega put an end to the battle for the title by winning the championship. Although it was Iker Lecuona who achieved the three victories of the weekend, the Italian had more than enough with the three second places that gave him the title with two rounds left to play.
Taking into account the points at stake each weekend, having two of margin makes clear the dominance that Nicolo has exercised this season, in which he has been shattering records that had been established for some time. Some he has beaten by a narrower margin, but others he has taken to a level that will be difficult to surpass unless someone achieves a perfect season.
Furthermore, he still has a couple of records ahead of him that he could achieve between the rounds of Portugal and Jerez, and seeing how the season has gone it is to be expected that he will achieve them. Of course, these records show not only the dominance that Bulega has had this season, but also that of Álvaro Bautista in 2023 and Jonathan Rea in 2019, as they are just the ones he has left to beat.

The records that Bulega has broken in 2026
In total there are six records that Nicolo Bulega has broken so far this season, and some of them could end up being bigger than they are, and others not. Let’s start with those that have beaten, for the moment, with a smaller margin compared to what is established.
There we find the consecutive poles, he has 10 (all contested) and the previous record was 9. He could take them to 12 if he continues to show the same one-lap speed that he has shown this year. He also already has eight triplets this season out of a possible 10, and the previous record was 6. There is also room for improvement. He also has 25 fastest laps this season (30 races have been held), and the previous record was 23, so he can still add more.
Then we have the records he has broken. The wildest is the 25 consecutive victories in the WSBK, also counting those at the end of 2025. It has almost doubled the previous record, which was 13. The same thing happens with the consecutive victories since the start of the season, 21 compared to the previous 11. Without doubling it, but also far surpassing it, is the record for consecutive podiums in WSBK, which right now stands at 43 counting the end of 2025.

The impressive thing about this is that even though Bulega has had an incredible season, there are two drivers who still have records that the Italian can achieve. It must be highlighted that they achieved them with a much tighter championship than this season, where Bulega has only had one rival, Lecuona.
We are talking about the record for victories in a single season, which Álvaro Bautista has with 27 in 2023, and that Nicolo could reach already in the next round because he has 26. The one that will have to wait until Jerez, but that should also fall, is the podiums in the same season with 34 by Rea in 2019. Right now Nicolo has 30, so he could reach it in race 1 of Jerez and surpass it in the Superpole Race.
What does seem complicated is that some of these records can be broken soon, but they also seemed unattainable before…
