It’s been almost a year since CFMoto first presented the concept of its future 800 MT-X at the last edition of EICMA. Back then we already told you that the model would be aimed at the Offroad segment and would have everything necessary to become a benchmark within the category in which it would be included.
Other relevant data about it referred to the high ground clearance and wide suspension travel it had, as well as a fuel tank placed in a lower position than any previous MT model, providing a lower center of gravity to optimize stability and improve handling.
The final design of the model was later leaked after the brand’s patent registration and last May we saw the first images of what seemed to be the final street version. They confirmed, for example, the use of radial wheels with 21” at the front and 18” at the rear axle, fitted with Offroad tyres in sizes 90/90-21 and 150/70-18. The adjustable suspension equipment, meanwhile, uses Kayaba with an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock.
CFMoto 800 MT-X 2025: ready for sale
Now, thanks to our colleagues at Motociclismo Italia, we have been made aware of new photographs that show a significant number of examples of the 800 MT-X ready to be distributed by the brand’s official dealers. In addition, we can conclude that its resemblance to the current KTM 790 Adventure leaves no room for doubt, both visually and in the technical section.
Recall that the 800 MT-X will be equipped with the inline twin-cylinder engine that equips the KTM 790 versions. CFMoto states 95 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 77 Nm of maximum torque at 7,500 rpm. In addition, it will be supported by a top-level technological compendium, including cutting-edge elements such as an 8” TFT screen, traction control system, Bosch dual-channel disconnectable ABS or different Riding Modes.
As an option, CFMoto has a wide range of accessories to improve the touring or off-road riding capabilities of this 800 MT-X: An aluminium case kit, side protections or auxiliary lighting would be among the most notable. Although its commercial debut will be in China, it is not clear when it could reach the brand’s European dealerships. Perhaps after the celebration of EICMA 2024?… We’ll see.
