Last June we already warned: “KYMCO prepares the CV-X45”an ADV scooter with adventure aesthetics based on the prototype presented by the brand at EICMA 2024. We are referring to the concept CV-R5shown for the first time in the Nangang Exhibition Hall together with the latest evolution of the well-known RevoNEX. Now it seems that the wait is over, as the brand itself has just announced in a recent official statement.
CV-X45 2027: “adventurous crossover with great trail ambitions”
This is the way that KYMCO has used to describe, in a few words, what it intends to offer its customers with the new CV-X45. A model in which the brand has had the contributions and vision of KYMCO Spain and other European markets for its development since its preliminary phase in 2023, under the direction of KYMCO European Design Centerbased in Bologna.

In general terms, we find a model clearly defined by the driving position, the configuration of its mid-engine frame, the optimal weight distribution, the suspension scheme and the rear chain transmission. As a whole, the brand seeks to highlight the touring qualities of its new scooter. Already at the time since Cycle World They alluded to its main features explaining that:
“The prototype’s 427 cc engine theoretically places it in the 450 cc category, as indicated by the “45” in the CV-X45 name, while the “X” indicates that it is an adventure-style model.” Shown for the first time last July, at the Taiwan International Motorcycle Show, the president of KYMCO Group, Chun-Ping Konoted that its marketing could begin in the early stages of next year.

What we can expect from the model
As we already explained months ago, the CV-X45 will most likely be equipped with a 15” rim and double disc brakes on the front axle, and a 14” one with a single disc on the rear axle. Regarding the technical specifications that KYMCO published at the time about the CV-R5, it would have an engine capable of generating 34 HP of power and up to 40.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm.
Beyond the purely speculative issue we have the key aspects that KYMCO has confirmed. Among the model characteristics announced in the Taiwanese sample we would have an adventure-oriented cycle part. To achieve this configuration, the CV-X45 combines a long-travel inverted front fork along with a central rear suspension with linkages, and a chain transmission.

In addition to the aforementioned trail driving position, the model will also have a large capacity fuel tank and ample storage space. His 427 cc single cylinder engine It has been specifically developed to offer efficient torque delivery at low and medium speeds, thus improving acceleration response and the ability to handle slopes.
Price and availability
If everything goes as planned, it is very likely that the first units of the KYMCO CV-X45 will arrive at the brand’s official dealerships. in the first quarter of 2027. At the moment the Taiwanese company has not revealed the final price of its new model, although we can take as a reference the rate of some of its direct rivals, such as the Zontes 368G, around 6,000 euros.
