Cyclonethe subsidiary brand of Zongshen/Zonsenhas once again delighted its followers with some images of what appears to be its future RC 700 R, a neo-retro sports bike inspired by the well-known MV Agusta Superveloce. The same one that QJMotor engineers have based their next SRK 921 SV on. An almost exact copy of the Italian, including the mechanics, in this case equipped with the four-cylinder in-line engine of 921 ccfrom which are extracted 129 hp at 10,000 rpm, of MV Agusta origin.
In the images of this new variant of the RC 700 R, the Cyclone adopts a design very similar to that shown by the transalpine sports bike. However, in this case it would almost certainly opt for the mechanics that were already equipped in April, at its official presentation for the Chinese market, the first model of this saga baptized under the same initials.
We are referring to the RC 700, a visually striking sports bike that can compete with the benchmark models in the category. It uses a four-cylinder engine that is essentially very similar, structurally speaking, to the one that powers the Honda CB650 and CB650R.
With this one it shares the diameter of its internal dimensions, 67 mm, although they have increased the stroke to reach 674 cc, the same as this RC 700. With a power around 100 hp and a declared weight of 208 kilosopts to be able to battle with high-level rivals, like the current one Aprilia RS660.
Cyclone RC 700 R new version or model?
It is not yet clear what the RC 700 R will offer and whether the Chinese brand will end up making it the main model in this range or a variant intended for those who crave a retro-style aesthetic. In any case, as with the SRK 921 SV from QJMotor, the RC 700 R is equipped with all those elements that are responsible for emphasizing this model. look classic.
Round front and rear lights, mirrors on the ends of the handlebars and a sharp silhouette are all part of this amalgam of details that make up the final set. Although these first images show an exotic reinforced aluminium swingarm, we assume that, if it goes into production, it will end up sharing the chassis, engine and much of the equipment with the standard RC 700.
Let us remember that the first concept of the brand, in relation to this model and possible variants, the RC 680, included, for example, a single-sided swingarm, something that was not finally included in the final street version. It is also not clear when it could be ready to reach the market, although it is assumed that it will initially debut in China, to later begin to be sold in other parts of the planet. For now, Cyclone is immersed in the construction of a wide commercial network on our continent.
