Cyclone R125 Plus test

CYCLONE RA125 PLUS TEST: INTRODUCTION

It is no secret: Asian giants no longer call the European market door, directly throw it down with the strength of a continent. The last example comes from the hand of Cyclonea two -wheeled division of the powerful group Zonsenwhich claims to manufacture a million units a year. It arrives in Spain in four segments and more than six models, for now. This test is dedicated to Cyclone RA125 Plus 2025a light custom that aspires to more than being a simple means of transport.

I am from Barcelona, I was born and grew up to thirty, so that the Scooter phenomenon took it in the blood (so to speak). I have moved since 18 with one of those bikes accused of vaters by purists, but practical, functional and economic, both to buy and maintain. Moreover, I never imagined defending another 125 cc segment that was not the scooter, but times change.

At maturing two things happened to me. The first, and most important, is that my empathy for the decisions or beliefs of others improved and I understood that not everything is black or black. I also understood that life should not be based only on the most sensible, to go down to parking and smile when you see “the donkey” in which you will go to work also makes sense. Why not make any journey, however everyday, a moment of fun, good vibes and disconnection? It is there where motorcycles like the Cyclone R125 Plus have.

We cannot ignore its origin, but try to normalize it as soon as possible. We see it in the automotive, where Chinese brands already put traditional manufacturers with electric or plug -in hybrids at prices impossible to match. It was a matter of time for this competition to reach motorcycles, with well -designed units, put to the point of European taste and equipment to the last.

However, the question is inevitable: what is the meaning of another 125 cc motorcycle in a saturated market of utilitarian scooters? The answer, although simple, touches the fiber of the fan: because not all, or all, look for a simple and easy tool for their routes from point A to point B, but seek something that represents them. The same thing that happens with clothes, a custom like this Ra125 talks about you before opening your mouth.

Cyclone R125 Plus test – Design: Retro personality with modern winks

Cyclone R125 Plus test

The RA125 Plus 2025 has an excellent first visual impact. After a few days rolling with her, using her for my usual journeys, questions about her displacement have been repeated, since it looks like a more rank unit. “Give the Pego” was one of the most listened comments. And is that his 15 -liter deposit It imposes more presence than we would expect in this displacement and sentence the segment in which we are.

This cyclone is committed to the classic winks of the custom world, but modernized. The front lighthouse, for example, is round but its LED light signature shows an elegant and minimalist daytime light of two C faced. They remind me of the Tesla logo but inclined, what opinion do you deserve? I like it, as well as its very “roll” macarra mate finish. The other shiny blue and white combination, on the other hand, is a success for vintage style lovers.

Other key details are the gums of the forks or the huge 18 -inch radio tires in front and 15 inches behind with tubels tires, They are an intelligent wink to those who seek aesthetics but do not want to give up practicality. Even the low two -seater seat reinforces the idea that we talk about more than a functional motorcycle: it is a custom designed to enjoy both driving and contemplating. Straight escape in a low position and endless chrome decorative elements to raise their presence. Of course, I hope that over time the cyclone name of the deposit disappears and is an even cleaner design. Now they must make clear who they are.

Cyclone R125 Plus test: maximum performance engine for A1

Cyclone R125 Plus test

Under its classic wrapping, a modern EURO5+homologating engine is hidden. It is, of course, a monocylinder of 124 cc refrigerated by liquid that delivers 15 CV at 10,000 rpm and 11 Nm at 9,000 rpm. They are figures that place it on the legal roof of the A1 or car B’s B with three years of experience. With the painting that it has and how easy it is to get it, I would not be surprised if it became an object of desire for the most scratched posture.

At the controls, this engine vibrates, but less than other monocylindrical that I have tried lately. It is a blunt vibration in the lower part of the accountvasted account, but that is refined as the accelerator fist is turning and changing to the sixth march. Exactly, six speeds that are appreciated on the fast pathways to be able to stretch their power to the maximum, but that require some practice to find the right drive force. Its horsepower is not surprising, but it allows you to reach 120 km/h if you are below 60 kilos and about 100 km/h for more bulky pilots.

As for the cycle part: surprises arrive and are good. On his chassis, a steel tubular, they have managed to offer a classic solution, but enough for the mission of this motorcycle and far from the iron sensation you expect. The front suspension is a 37 mm diameter fork with 135 mm travelwhile behind we find a double adjustable shock absorber with 62 mm. Nothing revolutionary, but functional.

The feeling of this set is very correct, with a good curve aplole and a somewhat hard tarado when facing the badenes that they like so much in this country. The double rear shock absorber always sins the same: being rebounded. In this case the same story is repeated, but you can regulate the preload based on your weight and improve that behavior. In addition, they feel phenomenal to the motorcycle.

The brakes deserve a separate mention. We have a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear, both assisted by ABS so they guarantee a blunt and safe braking. It is easy to activate it, I suppose that due to excess of confidence, in roundabouts or decisions at the last moment, but they respond perfectly. However, if I had to stay with one of the braking: the rear has seemed fantastic and very powerful. Just pressing your right foot you feel that you can face the vast majority of turns and braking of a city, partly by the 153 kg in marching order.

That data, added to the extra low seat of the RA125 Plus, makes you easily maneuver you are the size you are. In my case, with 1.59 meters high, I arrive perfectly with both feet and I can move it sitting, something I could never do with my high wheel scooters in Barcelona. Best of all? As soon as you get confidence with the Cyclone Custom, moving it by city is like a pleasant dance thanks to rubber 110/80-18 in front and 140/90-15 behind.

CYCLONE R125 PLUS test: technology dose at a good price

Cyclone R125 Plus test

The equipment is one of the sections where Cyclone makes the difference in the segment, but without going crazy. The RA125 Plus 2025 incorporates ABS on both axesa Traction control (TCS) almost unusual in this displacement, lighting Full LED and an instrumentation Round LCD that mixes the classic with the most advanced digitalization. The data offered on the screen (fuel, rpm, march, odometer, temperature) are very useful, but I have lacked the time. What a failure!

An error that, as the clutch’s touch, goes to the background when knowing the definitive data: 3,090 euros. Are there cheaper rivals? Yes, such as K-Right 125 of Keeway or the Motron Revolver, but both have 10.5 hp, so only the Macbor Rockster 125 Evo can do some damage with its 12 hp and 147 kilograms of weight.
