Motorcycle Honda da Amazonia Ltda.based in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, is the current local subsidiary of Honda in the South American country. Currently, it manufactures and sells motorcycles as well as energy products. In the last few hours it has announced a plan to update and expand its main plant, where it is estimated that a investment close to 260 million eurosapproximately, during the next four years, from 2026 to 2029.
Moto Honda da Amazonia has been operating in the country for almost half a century
The Moto Honda da Amazonia plant began operations in 1976 and currently produces 19 models, from 110 cc to 1100 cc, with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million units. The plant exports not only to Brazil, but also to 17 countries, including the United States, Australia and Mexico, with a cumulative production volume of more than 31 million units to date.
In recent years, the Brazilian motorcycle market has expanded rapidly, driven by growing demand for motorcycles as a means of personal transportation, as well as growing business needs such as home delivery. To meet demand, which is expected to continue growing, Moto Honda da Amazonia will continue to expand its production capacity by introducing new equipment over the next four years.
It will do so by optimizing production processes by modifying the distribution of processes and improving logistics within the factory. This will create a system that can respond more quickly and flexibly to market changes, increased demand and future product range expansion. Production capacity is expected to reach 1.6 million units by 2026, which will generate approximately 350 new jobs.
