We have been managing the different rumors that have emerged around the expected BMW R 1300 RAlthough it seems that the wait is about to finish. That is what the German brand itself has confirmed, after the launch of a teaser of the model in the social network of YouTube.
In addition, they have placed date on the calendar to completely reveal their new high performance maxinaked: Next April 10.
BMW R 1300 R 2026?: Everything we know
To begin with, and as a striking fact around the official presentation of the new R 1300 R, it is the fact that it has been certified by the US Environmental Protection Agency as Model 2026as Motorcycle’s companions detail in their chronicle. However, everything suggests that it will be in the coming weeks when the new model finally arrives at the brand’s official dealers.
This novelty, within the current range of BMW Motorrad models, joins the recent presentation of the new BMW R 12 g/s 2025, without a doubt a worthy heiress of the legendary R 80 g/s, combining a classic design with modern technology. Designed for offroad and road driving, this motorcycle offers a powerful boxer engine, long -distance suspensions and equipment designed for adventure.
In addition, this dynamic of presentations by the Bávara firm indicates that very soon it could also make known to the New R 1300 RS and R 1300 RTof which we have spoken in detail in these two articles:
Regarding what is the protagonist of these lines, and letting us guide by the slogan headed by the advertising teaser, “Born For Bends” (born for curves), leads us to think that BMW will present a more sporty and agile mount. This helps the brand has displaced the new propeller forward, shortening the final wheelbill.
Said all this, and recapitulating the information we have been knowing in recent months, the R 1300 R will equip the 1,300 cc boxer mechanics released at 1300 GS last season. This translates into a maximum power of 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 nm torque at 6,500 laps. On the other hand, the aforementioned propeller will be integrated into the new invoice chassis of the GS and would not initially include Telelever, in favor of the radiator in charge of keeping the liquid cooling system at bay.
Yes, the monobrazo and paralever scheme would be preserved, with a central shock absorber and integrated cardan, on the rear axle. To complete this dynamic picture we would have an aluminum subchassis screwed to the main frame. Other details related in this case with the aesthetic appearance could be a new bill front lighthouse, redesigned side panels or a more restrained stainless steel silencer than the one shown by the current R 1250 R.
In technological matters, the new automatic change assistant with automatic clutch drive (ASA) will be included, although it is not clear at the moment if R 1300 R will include the driving assistant with active cruise control (ACC), not even optionally.
All with an estimated weight in the order of progress around the 229 kg and an initial price that I shouldn’t exceed 17,500 euros approximately. In any case, we will leave doubts in just a few days, specifically the Next April 10 at 5:00 p.m. Stay tuned.
