Cyclone took all its new features out for a walk, including the long-awaited RA1000on the occasion of the last China International Motorcycle Fair 2025. The Asian brand continues to develop a complete range of models with which to entertain local tastes, but also with which to hit the table in international markets.
Especially in Europeans where, at the moment, their maximum bet, in terms of displacement and performance, are the new RX6 and RX600. They also presented the sporty RC 600, loaded with spoilers and with a discreet 59 HP of power. However, with its new bet within the naked-streetfighter segment, the brand goes one step further in all aspects.
Cyclone RA1000 in detail
Officially presented under the initials RA1000, on the contrary, its rear tail section bears the first name with which the existence of the model was known: SR 1000. That said, the context of this motorcycle was born with the Cyclone RA9 Concept, unveiled by the Chinese brand in the last quarter of 2021.
Already then there was open talk about how this prototype was based on the, at that time, extinct Aprilia Shiver. Let us remember that later, in January of this same year, the model was launched again in its 900 version, destined mainly for the Southeast Asian markets, showing few changes with respect to the variant that was marketed until the 2020 season in some European countries.
Returning to the prototype and its existence, this is basically based on an industrial decision resulting from the commercial relationship established by the Asian emporium and the Piaggio Group. In short, in addition to the futuristic image that the RA9 Concept sported at the time, we found a general remodeling of the 90º V engine that had previously powered the legendary Noale naked.
This technical recipe is the one that has also been used in the final version of the model. That is why the RA1000 makes use of the everlasting V-twin engine, now carried to the 996cc. This increase in displacement raises the power to the 106.7 HP, claiming a maximum torque of 95 Nm. Cyclone also declares a top speed of 235 km/h.
Within the visual plane, its tubular steel chassis painted in yellow stands out. The assembly is supported by a suspension system featuring an inverted front fork anchored to its front axle. Behind we find a monoshock adjustable in lateral and semi-horizontal position.
Braking, on the other hand, is controlled by a double front disc and four-piston radial calipers. At the rear it is a single disc, driven by a single-piston caliper, which acts efficiently. The equipment is integrated into two 17” alloy wheels and, as relevant information, we have the size of the rear tire: 240/45 ZR17. At the front the RA1000 uses a 120/70 ZR17.
As for its final dimensions, the new Cyclone mount declares 2,300 mm x 825 mm x 1,150 mm, referring to the length, width and maximum height, with a wheelbase of 1,600 mm and a curb weight of 225 kg. The set is completed with extensive equipment where we can find, among others, a TFT instrument panel or keyless start.
Also a dual-channel Bosch ABS system, TCS traction control, or tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). At the moment it is not clear if the model will finally reach the brand’s European dealerships over the next year. Zonsen has not offered details about the RA1000 regarding this possibility.
We hope that with the most anticipated event of the year, within the motorcycle sector in Europe, EICMA 2025, we will obtain some information about it.
