The latest information from India points to the imminent presentation, by Hero Vida, of its new electric concept, which they have named under the acronym Ubextaking advantage of its presence at the next edition of the famous Milanese EICMA. A model that, based on the first details leaked to the local press, seems to be focused on debuting in the naked segment.
This would arrive more than two years after the collaboration agreement signed by the company with the Californian company Zero Motorcycles. Then there was already open talk about the possibility of launching different electric models, by the newly founded Indian brand, over the following years. In the words of Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp:
“Our partnership with Zero Motorcycles is an important milestone in our journey towards ushering in an era of clean and sustainable technology in the mobility space. With Zero as our partner, we look forward to accelerating the electric mobility transition in India and across our global markets.”
Hero Vida Ubex: A prototype ready to go into production
The official presentation of the final version of the Hero Vida Ubex could be closer than we think. Although a prototype of the model will initially be unveiled, mass production and subsequent marketing are expected in the coming months. In this way it would become the brand’s first motorcycle, since until now it only has four scooter models within its current range.
Returning to the importance of the commercial agreement with Zero Motorcycles, at the end of last year, everything pointed to the year 2026 as the time chosen by both brands to launch the first model resulting from this collaboration. And that moment could arrive in just a few months, with the arrival of the new Ubex at the Indian brand’s dealerships.
According to details from Rush Lane, the future Vida model would be comparable to another internal combustion model with a displacement of approximately 200 cc. It is also emphasized that it should at least offer an average range of about 200 kilometers. In any case, if we take a look at the only image we have, it is clear that the Ubex would be very close to what is expected from a production motorcycle.
In it we can highlight a main architecture in line with other models of similar technical configuration; This involves mounting the motor and battery pack in a central position and using a toothed belt to bring the power to the rear wheel.
Its chassis sits on 17” alloy wheels and has an inverted front fork, rear central monoshock and a pair of wave-type brake discs, one per axle.
Its silhouette leaves no doubt that we would be looking at a naked model with certain sporty features. The one-piece bench seat delimits the two seats with a soft contour, although it appears to narrow at the end, thus offering a more aggressive aesthetic from a rear view.
Although the brand has not yet officially commented on the presentation of the Ubex concept, in just a few days we will know all the details surrounding this launch. Also for when they plan to start marketing it and if the latter includes the arrival of the model to the brand’s dealers in Europe. Even more so considering that it recently landed in our country through the ONEX Group.
