The MotoGP season is being exciting despite Marc’s overwhelming domain, but there are still “Salso” also out of the track with the Martín-Aprilia duel. The soap opera is lengthened over time and this weekend in Assen, everything has risen after the statements of Albert Valera, the manager of Jorge Martín.
In an interview with Izaskun Ruiz, in Dazn, Jorge’s manager gave his point of view under which and always speaking with the support of his law firm, it was estimated that Jorge Martín was a free pilot for the next season.
In an extensive talk between the journalist and Valera, he explained his point of view, he answered all the questions and even stated that in the event that I would like to make public the clause that they, in theory, have activated to put an end to the contract at the end of the first season. This situation, he added, came after – always in his words – with Jorge’s injury they would have tried to extend the deadline and make the decision later, finding the refusal of Aprilia. Therefore, being pushed to make a decision, this would have been to put an end to the contract covered in that clause that Aprilia denies.
What motivated to activate the clause in the contract of @88JORGEMARTIN With Aprilia and what will happen to your future?

Subsequently and before the stir generated, it was Carmelo Ezpeleta himself who, before the same microphones, settled any type of question. The CEO of Dorna and, therefore, maximum representative of the championship was clear about it. If the two parties did not agree to terminate the contract, it will be the judges who have to speak and in the meantime Jorge Martín may not compete in any other team other than the contract that is in force, since Dorna will not accept the registration. In this way, the option that Martín can go to another brand is closed as long as the contract is not resolved, either by an agreement between parties or by legal means.
🗣️ ”If an inscription will arrive where the pilot does not have the freedom of the previous contractor, we will not accept it”

APRILIA hopes to solve the situation with Martín
The third part involved, Aprilia, represented by Massimo Rivola also spoke with Izaskun Ruiz after the words of Carmelo Ezpeleta and was congratulated because Dorna had the same vision of them about the situation. Even so, Rivola gave two options “or trial or agreement”, although this second option was more distorted.
🗣️ “For us the pilot has a contract until 2026 and we will do everything possible to protect my factory”
🔊 “There are not so many pilots in the market and it would be a problem to lose it”

Finally, the fourth part of this table is Honda that, as they tell, would be behind Martin to be looking for that change. In that sense, Puig, as pragmatic as ever, showed his clearest and most direct side making it clear that they, to talk to someone, would do it with the pilot and not with the factory based on the information that the pilot gives.
🗣️ “We do not get into situations where the pilot has a contract with another brand”

Therefore, after the GP of the Netherlands, everything is still in the air, with more pressure, but the same questions without answers; And everything while Martin prepares for a return to the competition that could be, either in Germany or in Brno in case of receiving the medical approval and that the test performed as expected.
