Ducati closes its first season in Spanish motocross with two runners-up finishes

The potential of the Ducati Desmo450 MX is undeniable. Its power, desmodromic distribution and top-level electronics with real traction control have placed it since its arrival as one of the reference models in the category. But it is one thing to have the potential and another to be able to demonstrate it. And that is just what they have achieved together with Víctor Alonso.

In the debut season of the Desmo450 MX, the Spanish rider and the Italian motorcycle have become protagonists of the Spanish Elite MX1 Championship, the premier category of the competition. Now that it has come to an end, it ends with a runner-up finish for drivers and also for constructors that endorse those sensations that were built throughout the campaign.

In the 14 races held, Alonso has achieved two victories, eight podiums and has finished in the top six in each and every one of them. A result that shows the high level of the pairing, but that has gone even further in the international events in which they have also competed in 2026.

Ducati and Víctor Alonso, a first season full of results

And they have combined the national race with other events to add a total of 33 rounds that together result in six victories, 18 results among the top 3 and five holeshots. Among the most notable international results is third place in the second round of the EMX Open held in Lommel.

Therefore, the first season of Víctor Alonso and the Ducati Desmo450 MX cannot be considered anything other than a success, as recognized by Carlos T. López Panisello, General Director of Ducati Spain and Portugal:

“Ducati’s entry into motocross represents a strategic commitment for the brand and these results are a great satisfaction for the entire Ducati Spain and Portugal team. Achieving second place in the first year of launch of the Desmo450 MX demonstrates the potential of our first motorcycle in this segment, a fantastic balance that encourages us to continue consolidating our presence in motocross.”

For Víctor Alonso Rodilla, it has also been a great season even though he had to start regaining his rhythm after an injury:

“Very happy with this first season with Ducati. It is true that the start was complicated, since I was coming from an injury and it was difficult for me to get into the rhythm. But by dint of working and accumulating kilometers, we improved. We achieved the first podium in Montearagón, which gave us the motivation to settle among the first and achieve the two victories in Morón. We were on the verge of also winning in Talavera, but we still secured the runner-up position. In short, it has been a very positive season, with a lot of learning. The bike has worked perfectly, with a very quick adaptation. In addition, we had support with new parts to improve the bike and we achieved an electronic configuration that has worked very well for my riding style.”
