It has been approximately five years since Evoke Motorcyclesa motorcycle brand based in Hong Kong that has been developing its current range of models since the mid-2010s, will land in our country, commercially speaking. Now, in full celebration of his 10th Anniversaryhave presented to their local public the new Nrgy in versions “6” and “8”.
The idea applied to the model is clear; offer a real mobility alternative, making use of electric propulsion, without the final price being reserved exclusively for a small market niche. All this combined under the motto “Totally new platform, designed for life”with a successful neo-retro image, a good level of equipment and the possibility of choosing between two capacity ranges.
Evoke Nrgy: “Constant capacity without limitations”
Since Evoke began to shape its latest novelty, they were very clear about what the final objective of the project was. Unlike what usually happens with most mid-range and high-end models offered within the EV segment, The Nrgy had to offer reliable performance for real life without the sales price ending up skyrocketing.
That is why one of the first decisions that were made regarding the development was to include lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. These, compared to other lithium technologies, “can sacrifice energy density in favor of longer life and thermal stability”as pointed out by New Atlas. In exchange we have a cheaper manufacturing price that helps reduce the overall costs of models like the Nrgy.
In this regard, the brand itself clarifies: “While most budget electric motorcycles skimp on expenses by equipping small, cheap batteries and inflating range figures in lab tests that never correspond to reality, actual usable range is always directly related to battery size.”
Concludes: “Nrgy breaks this industry trend by incorporating the largest batteries in its price segment, offering constant and unrestricted autonomy on the road, cold weather and daily commutes. Two versions and one purpose
On the technical side, both the Nrgy “6” and the higher capacity “8” variant use the aforementioned new common platform equipped with an electric motor capable of generating a peak power of 12 and 15 KW respectively. This is associated with the aforementioned LFP battery, which in the case of the access version declares a final capacity of 6.4 kWh.
This figure rises to 8.4 kWh if we opt for the option with greater benefits. In accordance with these data we obtain a maximum autonomy range that goes from 212 km for the Nrgy “6” to just over 260 kilometers in the case of the “Full-Power” version. Likewise, the brand announces a recharge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Other notable data of the model are, for example, a top speed of up to 125km/h or a curb weight which, depending on the type of battery, may vary between 156 and 182 kilograms. At the level of the chassis, all its elements are common, highlighting the Twin Plate type chassis, 43 mm inverted fork, a double rear shock absorber and the disc brake kit on both axles.
For now there is no official information on the final price that the new Nrgy range will have in the markets where it may have a commercial presence. The brand pointed out during the official presentation event that the access fee It will start at approximately $5,000.reaching $6,500 in the case of version “8”. In any case, these data, in relation to the European market, must be taken with caution, as a result of the overregulation caused by the lapidary bureaucracy to which the old continent is currently subjected.
