The Subaru BRZ is one of the few compact coupes left on the market. Or should we say “left”, since this week the last 30 units of this model that the brand launched in 2013 in collaboration with Toyota and that received its last update in 2023 go on sale. These last units are added to the 355 that have been sold in our country and are available for 43,000 euros.
This is a pure sports car, as we saw in our in-depth test, with a 2.4-litre, 234-hp boxer engine (one of the brand’s hallmarks), positioned very low and weighing very little, improving handling and performance. The manual gearbox and the overall feel of the car are ideal if you’re looking for sportiness:
Driving pleasure has always been a hallmark of the BRZ, and its latest update has seen the lateral rigidity of the body increased by 60% and the torsional rigidity by 50%. With these improvements, it is much more agile and has better traction on winding roads.
In addition, the use of aluminum in the roof, front fender and hood contribute to declaring a low weight of 1.289 kilos in its manual version. Added to all this is Subaru’s special interest in safety, in a product that is perhaps not very practical but 100% passionate.
