In the end everything has remained in a great scare and will have consequences, but the accident starring Giovanni Sala and Maurizio Sanna could have ended in tragedy. The Dakarian pilot, who is still active, and the founder of the school that bears his own name (Maurizio Sanna Academy), collided frontally on the school layout while they were taking a course.
As Insella’s partners report, the two pilots had to be evacuated by helicopter to Brotzu and Santissima Trinità hospitals with red code. Of course, fortunately and despite the injuries that included several trauma and fractures in the lower extremities, none of them was in danger of death.
Giovanni Sala’s accident was due to a misunderstanding
Although at the moment the exact causes that led to the frontal collision are not known, everything indicates that behind it there was a confusion. At one point Giovanni Sala entered the track thinking that all other students were watching him and none rolling, so he decided to turn around and go against the direction.
What Giovanni Sala did not tell is that one of the people, Maurizio, had also entered the track following the normal direction and assuming that Sala would also follow her. This false confidence caused the two to be strong when they thought that they had the track for them, not so.
Even being two pilots with the experience of Giovanni Sala and Maurizio Sanna, they could not avoid the impact and the two ended up suffering a serious accident that, fortunately, will end up recovering.

This accident is undoubtedly a reminder that on the track you always have to follow the marked address, regardless of whether it is thought that it is alone or not. That is the only way to avoid frontal accidents in circuit that, unfortunately, we are lately seeing more frequently.
