Recently, Souo Motorcycles has launched its first high-flying touring model on the market, the so-called Souo S 2000. Meanwhile, the brand is still in the process of developing the future LH 2000the mega cruiser variant developed on the same platform equipped with the well-known 8-cylinder boxer engine. The novelty of the matter is that Great Wall Motor (GWM) and its young brand have chosen Germany to carry out some test tests.
As we have learned from our colleagues at Motorrad Online, the main reason why the new Souo LH 2000 has been brought to our continent would be related to two German brands and their products. On the one hand, Bosch, in charge of fine-tuning engine management, fuel injection and some technical aspects related to the model’s safety systems.
Will the Souo LH 2000 arrive in Europe?
The Souo S 2000 is equipped with Brembo braking, with four-piston radial calipers on the front, while the different safety systems, such as ABS, traction control and lean angle, are provided by Bosch. For its part, we have ZF Sachs, a specialist in suspension equipment, and in charge of developing a semi-active control system on the LH 2000 called Constant Damping Control (CDC)equipped in this case with automatic load adjustment through electrohydraulic preload.
Other equipment elements that could also be currently being tested are Cruise Control, the different driving modes or the heating system for the grips and seat. Perhaps this decision to move the LH 2000 test unit to Germany is the work of the Bavarian engineer Uwe Moser who, together with the head of GWM, Wei Jianjun, are the ideologues of the launch of Souo Motorcycles and its new models. Moser, born in Baden-Württemberg, and currently emigrated to China, has previously worked in brands such as Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Irmscher or Continental.
Having said all this, remember that the Souo S 2000 is equipped with a 2,000 cc, 8-cylinder boxer engine that offers up to 154 HP of power at 6,500 rpm and 190 Nm of maximum torque at 4,500 revolutions. The mechanics are associated with an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT) plus reverse, homologating a maximum speed of 210 km/h. These figures should be very similar to those declared by the Souo LH 2000.
After passing through German lands, now we have to wonder if Souo’s mounts will reach Europe. If so… At what price? The touring version costs the equivalent of about 30,000 euros in China, so everything suggests that the LH 2000 will have a somewhat lower initial price than its sister. In any case, if both models were to be commercialized on our continent, it would not at least be until 2026 the moment of its beginning.
