For Honda, the CB acronym has a legendary 65-year history, dating back to the original CB92 Benly from 1959 with a clean design, sporty ergonomics, a lively engine with a characteristic sound and precise handling: a formula that remains valid today with the new 2026 CB1000F. A frame that is inspired by the iconic CB750F and that has been developed on the platform of the CB1000 Hornet.
For the occasion, the brand incorporates premium equipment and a wider range of use to offer driving pleasure in all types of scenarios, from the city to open roads. Developed under the concept of creating the “Better balanced roadster”the 2026 CB1000F handles like a medium-displacement motorcycle, but with big motorcycle sensations. And, with the 80s setting trends in fashion, music, style and more, the 2026 CB1000F is a motorcycle fully prepared for the present.
Rivals of the 2026 Honda CB1000F
Within the select club where we find this 2026 CB1000F, we can enjoy rivals of the following level:
Honda CB1000F 2026 engine
Originally based on the CBR1000RR Fireblade engine (spec 17YM), the 1000cc DOHC inline four-cylinder powerplant has been specifically tuned for its new role as a roadster, offering punchy, characterful torque delivery in the low rev range, smooth mid-range response and accessible top-end acceleration.
The 6-speed transmission has also been revised. The first two gears have shorter ratios to improve low-speed acceleration. Third to sixth gears use longer ratios for relaxed driving and lower revs. At 100 km/h in sixth gear, the engine turns at 4,000 rpm, compared to 4,300 rpm for the Hornet. The assist slipper clutch offers smooth lever action, reduces fatigue and controls rear wheel bounce during aggressive downshifts.
Bore per stroke measurements are 76 x 55.1 mm, with a compression ratio of 11.7:1. The maximum power is 123 HP at 9,000 rpm, with a torque of 103 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The brand declares a maximum speed of 230km/h for an average consumption estimated around 5.6L/100km. This, together with having a 16 liter fuel tank, provides a potential autonomy of more than 280 km.
Designed to produce immersive sound in the low and midrange, and a thrilling soundtrack in the high range, the 4-2-1 exhaust system feeds a true-to-period three-chamber megaphone muffler that works in conjunction with the offset intake and valve timing.
Cycle part of the Honda CB1000F 2026
The cycle part features a one-piece, diamond-type steel structure with a double beam, which works together with an asymmetrical cast aluminum swingarm. The frame is designed around the engine and uses a specific rear subframe on this 2026 CB1000F that offers more space for comfortable riding with a passenger. The steering angle is 25° and the trail is 98 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,455 mm. Curb weight is 214 kg.
At the front suspension level, the 41 mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) is adjustable in spring preload and rebound/compression damping, allowing owners to adapt the suspension to their preferences. The new Showa rear shock absorber, with separate pressurization in a single tube, operates through the Pro-Link system, with a new link that offers comfort at low speeds (urban use) and greater stability as speed increases. Preload is adjustable via cam, and rebound damping is also adjustable.
For braking, Honda has opted for four-piston Nissin front calipers, mounted radially, responsible for biting into two 310 mm floating discs. The 240mm rear disc employs a single-piston Nissin caliper. To complement the suspension adjustments and ease handling, brake hose expansion rates have been revised, along with other details, to deliver safer braking performance and feel. Cornering ABS, managed by the six-axis IMU, adds extra safety for the driver.
The five-spoke 5Y design wheels, inspired by the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade concept, are cast from lightweight aluminium. The tires are 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 180/55-ZR17 at the rear. Regarding the ergonomic plane, the seat has thick padding and a height of 795 mm; The narrow center section of the bike makes it easier to reach the ground. Ground clearance is 135 mm.
Equipment and finishes of the Honda CB1000F 2026
The 2026 CB1000F features strong, defined and fluid lines that run the entire length of the bike, connecting the fuel tank to the side panels and rear unit. The chrome headers and exposed engine proudly display the commanding presence and power of a large displacement four-cylinder engine.
Long-lasting, low-energy LED bulbs are used for all lighting. The round headlight features a classic circular signature light, with low beam at the top and high beam at the bottom, while the taillight integrates seamlessly into the rear unit. And taking direct inspiration from its predecessors, a double horn has been incorporated – with different frequencies – located under the headlight.
The five-inch color TFT display is customizable between Bar, Circle and Simple display modes, and offers connectivity for iOS/Android smartphones through the Honda RoadSync app. The turn signals also incorporate the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function: in the event of sudden braking, the emergency lights flash to warn other road users that a sudden stop is taking place.
TBW (Throttle By Wire) management and a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) are at the heart of the 2026 CB1000F’s electronic package. The TBW system allows the rider to have maximum control over the engine through three preset driving modes, with preset combinations of Engine Power, Engine Brake and HSTC (Standard, Sport and Rain), plus two customizable options that allow the rider to choose their own combination of settings.
USER 1 and 2 modes allow the pilot to choose between settings for each parameter and save the settings for future use. The selection is managed from the left handlebar and is displayed on the TFT screen. Ignition is done using the Honda Smart Key.
