Model Updates: Since 1975, the Gold Wing has traveled the world, evolving over six generations until celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. The 2026 model features the familiar high-end specification including double wishbone front suspension and the monumental opposed six-cylinder engine.
Its status as a technological benchmark is well established, with features such as the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), seven-inch TFT screen, electric display, Smart Key system, four driving modes and hill start assist, which keep it at the forefront of motorcycling. A new range of colors renews the image of the Gold Wing for next year.
Honda GL1800 Gold Wing 2026 engine
To maximize the dynamic potential of the chassis—and maintain the addictive power delivery and character that define this icon—the Gold Wing’s 1,833cc horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine employs four valves per cylinder. The maximum power of 124 hp is reached at 5,500 rpmwhile the maximum torque of 170 Nm is delivered at 4,500 rpm. The brand declares a maximum speed of 180 km/h.
The mechanics are associated with a 7-speed DCT transmission. The system offers two different driving approaches:
- Automatic, with pre-programmed shift patterns that constantly read the vehicle speed, the selected gear and the engine revolutions to decide when to shift.
- Manual, which allows changes to be made using “paddle shift” type triggers located on the left handlebar.
Throttle-by-wire engine management (TBW) adds four driving modes that modify the character and power delivery, linked to the suspension damping and the combined braking system (D-CBS): Tour, Sport, Econ and Rain. The approved consumption is estimated at 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers traveledwhich together with its fuel tank with a capacity of 21 liters of fuel, gives us the possibility of traveling distances of over 350 kilometers without refueling.

The Gold Wing’s cast aluminum double-spar frame is designed to house the engine and double-wishbone front suspension in a compact space. The latter reduces steering friction and improves stability, using bearings in all support areas. Additionally, the patented cross-brace system provides a natural and precise handling feel.
Its geometry includes a launch angle of 30.5° and a trail of 109 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,695 mm and a curb weight of 373kg. Braking is carried out by the Dual Combined Brake System (D-CBS), which distributes force between both wheels and adjusts its response according to the selected driving mode. It has double 320 mm front discs with 6-piston calipers and a 316 mm rear disc with 3-piston calipers, all managed by a lightweight ABS modulator and integrated with the brake ECU.
The Gold Wing also features a Pro-Arm swingarm, which attaches to the frame on the left side. The right side serves as maintenance access. This allows for greater design freedom and makes the motorcycle easier to manage; It also contributes to stability. The Pro-Link system provides a progressive and comfortable suspension action, while ball joints are used throughout, eliminating twisting. Rear preload is manually adjustable.

The 2026 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing combines refined, athletic design with advanced technology and exceptional comfort. Its sloping front and compact fairing highlight its dynamic personality, while aerodynamic details and premium finishes reinforce its presence. The adjustable, positionless electric windshield offers great protection against the wind and a feeling of freedom. Optional options can be added such as a larger screen and adjustable deflectors. The riding position separates rider and passenger, providing comfort and support without sacrificing freedom of movement.
All lighting is LED, with headlights incorporating optical lenses for a sharp beam of light. The turn signals in the mirrors are self-canceling, adjusting according to the speed of the wheels. Cruise control, managed by the TBW, allows for a smooth speed transition and automatically adjusts response when climbing hills.
The cockpit features a 7-inch full-color TFT screen, displaying navigation, audio, driving modes and suspension information. Its brightness adjusts automatically and allows manual customization. Sleek instrumentation includes LED-illuminated dials and metallic accents for an upscale aesthetic.
For its part, the Smart Key allows keyless ignition and remote luggage unlocking. The 60-liter suitcases have soft opening with hydraulic shock absorbers and can be opened by remote control or with the push of a button. The model is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Wi-Fi or wired connection. Bluetooth connectivity facilitates communication between driver and passenger without losing audio. The “Ducking” function lowers the music volume during conversations, and there are two USB Type-C ports for device charging.
The premium audio system offers better speaker pressure, ensuring an immersive experience even at high speed. A passenger audio control, located on the right trunk, allows you to adjust volume and playback source. The navigation system, integrated into the TFT screen, includes a gyrocompass to maintain guidance even in tunnels. Up to 99 waypoints can be programmed for detailed planning, and the “go home” option can be activated at any time.
