Honda unveils its new V3R900 E-Compressor with AI-assisted functions

Honda has just presented at the EICMA 2026 show the new features that will be included in its range of models for the next season. These include the important evolutions of its emblematic Africa Twin and Fireblade families, the new ADV125 adventure scooter and the planned production version of its revolutionary V3R 900 E-Compressor.

After several years of development, the Japanese brand says it has everything ready for the commercial launch of its long-awaited new sports naked: “The model on display shows the definitive design lines of this unique project, with all the musculature and the characteristic asymmetrical configuration of the prototype presented at EICMA in 2025”they explained after the presentation.

The V3R900 E-Compressor marks the beginning of a new era

Since Honda’s V3 engine equipped with an electric compressor was unveiled at EICMA 2024, the brand has continued to work methodically on the future applications that this platform will end up having within its range of models, present and future. The first to debut this mechanism is the already known V3R900 E-Compressor.

It was at the last edition of the Milan Motor Show when Honda officially presented “its most advanced motorcycle to date.” Under the motto “Original Honda Spirit. New Dream.”the brand offered us a preview in the form of a prototype of what was to come. In any case, the concept sought by the Japanese was quite clear to us from the beginning of this adventure:

A sporty naked that perfectly embodies Honda’s 2030 vision: offering “free and fun mobility” powered by advanced technology and unmistakable driving pleasure. For this, the V3R900 E-Compressor relies on its innovative V3 75º water-cooled engine with 900 cc displacement, which incorporates an electronically controlled electric compressor for the first time in the world.

Following in the wake of iconic innovations such as the original CB750, Gold Wing, RC30, NR, Fireblade and Africa Twin, the V3R900 E-Compressor manages to provide instant torque from low revs by controlling intake air compression regardless of engine speed. “This allows a 900 cc engine to achieve performance comparable to that of a 1200 cc engine,” say its creators.

A technological showcase that can be extrapolated to other models

Beyond the fact that we are facing the official presentation of a new model as such, what we have no doubt about is how Honda will take advantage of this V3R900 E-Compressor and its multiple innovations in other models of the brand. In fact, the company is not only working on a V3 with an electric compressor: its patents point to V2, V4, V5 and V6 engines.

In any case, sticking exclusively to the V3R900 E-Compressor, Honda, referring to the model, classifies it as “light, compact and with a decisive character”. Its final version will also have a fuel tank, exhaust manifolds and titanium silencer and the latest evolution of Honda RoadSync, with an improved human-machine interface for more intuitive handling and new AI-assisted functions.

As we have already mentioned, it is planned that these new connected functions will also be progressively introduced in other compatible Honda models. From the signature of the golden wing they conclude by ensuring that “Development is progressing at a good pace and new information on the serial production schedule will be provided later”. We will be attentive to new information about its next release.
