He Japan Mobility Show 2025 once again gives Japanese brands the opportunity to show their most interesting technological displays. In the case of Honda and as the main novelty within the two-wheeled sector, it has announced its exuberant EV Outlier Concept. An electric motorcycle prototype developed with an innovative approach.
It challenges conventional ideas to offer customers surprises, excitement and new experiences. Taking advantage of the great design freedom of electric motorcycles, it incorporates motors in the front and rear wheels, achieving a dynamic and low-slung style.
Honda EV Outlier Concept in detail
As detailed Yuya Tsutsumileader of the project, the new EV Outlier Concept is based on the EV FUN and EV Urban prototypes presented at EICMA 2024. Beyond its futuristic aesthetics, there are details that truly attract attention, such as the wide tires that it mounts responsible for creating “a dynamic impression.”
Motors integrated into the wheels, both front and rear, provide powerful acceleration. As Tsutsumi explains: “It offers a riding sensation unmatched by any motorcycle, evoking surprise and excitement, key elements of Honda’s design philosophy.”
Another crucial aspect in the design of this EV Outlier Concept would be the horizontal arrangement of the suspension and its orientation towards the lower part of the central chassis, achieving “a mechanical expression different from that of existing models”as the brand itself reports. Likewise, the instrument panel consists of two sections:
The upper gauge displays information essential for normal driving, while the lower display shows mode settings, front engine torque adjustment and information such as front and rear wheel movement based on road conditions.
Regarding the impression he had on seeing the final sketch of the EV Outlier Concept, Yuya Tsutsumi is clear in this regard: “I felt that it perfectly embodied the surprise and excitement that characterizes Honda design. Just by imagining it displayed in Honda dealerships and stores, I could easily visualize crowds around it. The excitement of exuding an imposing presence once modeled rubbed off on the entire team.”

Rest of Honda news at the Japan Mobility Show 2025
Honda showcases the breadth of its global product offering with an extensive exhibition at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, including multiple world premieres of land, sea, air and space products. The first of them is the Super-N Prototypea compact electric vehicle that offers “the pleasure of driving” and comes equipped with the new ‘BOOST mode’.
This mode not only improves the available power, but also simulates a multiple gear change, providing greater dynamic performance and greater driver involvement, something unique in a vehicle of this size. Honda’s latest electric EV model will arrive in Japan and select global markets, including the United Kingdom, from 2026.
Although Honda has no immediate plans to introduce the Super-N prototype in other European markets, the success of this new model will help it identify customer interest in future small electric vehicles in the region. In the field of two wheels, in addition to the models already mentioned, it is also worth mentioning the Honda e-MTB Prototype.
As he explains, the brand has “developed to expand the pleasure of riding in the wild and making its world premiere before launching in Europe in 2026. Its carbon fiber frame offers a light and agile ride, as well as a stylish design, and features electric hill climbing assistance, fusing the fun of motorcycles and mountain bikes for off-road riding enjoyment.”
Toshihiro MibePresident and CEO of Honda Motor, stated: “Honda is a company that has always put its heart and soul into making our own dreams and those of our customers come true. And we continue to take on new challenges as we work toward a future in which our products continue to be the ‘force’ that moves our customers.”
Concludes: “We hope that many people will visit our booth at the Japan Mobility Show to experience the future that Honda imagines through the wide variety of mobility products and technologies that we exhibit”. In addition to its traditional mobility products, Honda will also showcase the sustainable rocket used in a takeoff and landing test in Hokkaido, Japan, in June 2025.
Built to be reusable and have a low environmental impact, this rocket showcases the robustness and broad application of the manufacturer’s autonomous driving technology and aeronautical development. Other products on display are:
