If you don’t think the power of the Husaberg FS 570 you can always put a turbo …

There are brands that make history to endure the passage of time against wind and tide, but there are others that despite being ephemeral left a spectacular legacy. That is the case of Husaberg, a brand that was born in 1988 as a split of Husqvarna when it bought it Cagiva (another myth), and that was active 25 years.

Even so, it was enough time to stand out for its quality, for the competitiveness of its motorcycles and by models that were authentic missiles. And despite its relatively fleeting step, Husaberg created a motto that may sound to you: “Ready to Race.” And when he disappeared, he did it to refuse with Husqvarna, already owned by KTM that also shows that philosophy.

So we can say that many of the Husaberg are practically worship and among them is one of their last jewels, the Husaberg FS 570 that was a motorcycle ready for the circuit but with registration, headlights and intermittent.

A beast in which its 565.5 cc monocyinder engine stood out was almost horizontal in the chassis (70 degrees). That option made there more distance to the ground while displacing the mass of the engine itself and rotational inertia closer to the center of gravity. In this way it was sought to make the motorcycle more agile despite its displacement.

Now the motorcycle has won 30% power, but Alex wants more

Thus, the idea of the Husaberg FS 570 Turbo was born

And now that we slightly know the story of Husaberg and also of FS 570, we will integrate the third leg of this story: Alex Silversjö. Swedish as the brand, and fan of the 570, had an idea about its own FS 570 after having an accident with it in October last year. He was recovering and began to think about the option of creating a turbo kit that managed to get 20 or 30 hp more, but maintaining the reliability and silhouette of the motorcycle.

Once the idea was maturing in Alex’s head, the next step was to take the plan to reality. Logically, getting a turbo to a motorcycle that has been born without it, making everything work properly, that reliability is maintained and costs do not shoot is a challenge, but the truth is that it seems that it has achieved it.

Although it has not arrived, for now, to win those 30 hp that I dreamed, it has achieved 30% more power. That is, it has gone from the original 56 hp to 73 hp in the rear wheel. It is now immersed in the second performance step, reaching the 80 hp to wheel, which implies between 90 and 95 hp in the crankshaft.

The first step is the turbo, next the Intecooler
The first step is the turbo, next the Intecooler

That is a real madness for a motorcycle that weighs less than 120 kilos. And it is only an intermediate step, because it is already thinking of integrating an intercooler and improving admission to continue increasing the power of a Husaberg FS 570, which has to be as fun to pilot as terrifying.
