In the early stages of last February, Intermot announced that its 2026 edition was cancelled, while promising to return in 2027 with a shorter format and a calendar change that reopens competition with other German shows. Now, from the organization of the event, they make public the changes and improvements that will support the return of the emblematic German fair.
Intermot 2027 sends a clear message to its followers
Under the motto “the world of motorcycling belongs to Cologne from February 19 to 21, 2027“Intermot tries to adapt its format to the current demands posed by the sector. At the heart of the new concept is the new indoor test track, not only the largest, but also perfectly prepared.
On the approximately 500-meter stretch with a special cover for optimal grip, the bikes of the 2027 season can be tested in ideal conditions: more than 1,000 tests can be carried out each day of the fair. Of course, helmets, jackets and gloves will be provided to those who wish to participate.
Likewise, the organization warns that the actions of the manufacturers and the acrobatic shows will provide additional energy to the pavilion; “Intermot wants to not only show motorcycling, but also make it palpable”they explain. Space will be added to this Adventure Travel where adventure motorcycles, accessories, clothing and travel will become its protagonists.
“They will undoubtedly awaken the desire to hit the road before having traveled a single kilometer. Presented live on a stage in the middle of an adventure area surrounded by renowned exhibitors” argues the organization of the room. In addition, the history of motorcycling joins the racing sport.
The event diversifies its theme
In this context, a classic, extensive and colorful exhibition will offer us the opportunity to admire historical racing machines that are directly integrated into it under the theme “100 years of the Nürburgring Nordschleife”. Right at the other end of the exhibition we will have the “Innovation Walk”.
It will showcase the latest in the sector: from particularly efficient engines, including electric and hybrid drive systems, through assistance systems, comfort clutches, automatic transmissions and recycled materials to safety-relevant developments in the helmet and clothing segments.
In synergy with this last thematic space we will have a “Urban Mobility”which translates these perspectives into the daily routine of cities. “Motorized two-wheeled vehicles require less space, save resources and can alleviate traffic. This also makes Intermot a space for questions that go beyond the automotive field”clarifies the event.
