This BMW R nineT preparation that we show you today has been baptized under the nickname Boxermeisterbasically because it is inspired by the livery worn by the BMW M1 of Fritz Wagner, a mechanic and collector who decided to decorate his copy with the same colors worn by the Porsche 956 that won the Group C World Championship.
The reality is that in 1978, BMW built 453 street examples of the M1 in order to homologate the track car. Of these, the German brand set aside 53 units to use for the competition. That M1 from the Brun Racing team offered no less than 1,000 HP of power, as detailed by the colleagues of “The Return of the Café Racers”. However, the car never competed in the championship.
BMW R nineT Boxermeister in detail
That is why Fritz Wagner built his own M1 racing replica and, like this one, the Zweiradwerke Boxermeister has been recreated down to the last detail in order to capture the competitive spirit of that legendary machine from the late seventies. Among the main elements it carries, it is worth highlighting:
- AC Schnitzer forged wheels painted in gold color
- Metzeler Racetec RR Tires
- Handcrafted body kit
- Carbon front fender by Ilmberger
- Ohlins Suspensions
- Jekill and Hyde exhaust system with 3 electronically controlled sound modes.
In addition to the above, the R nineT Boxermeister features lightened cylinder head covers, optional BMW footpegs and AC-Schnitzer handlebars. All finished off with the famous Jägermeister livery inspired by Fritz Wagner’s M1. A job that has led the team at the German dealership where it was manufactured to spend around 90 hours of work.
The Boxermeister is currently on sale for 29,990 euros and displayed in the dealer’s own exhibition.
