Jawa launches the 42 FJ, a direct rival to the Royal Enfield HNTR 350

A few weeks ago we officially got to know the Jawa 42, a model that was renewed and that arrived loaded with new features. Well, now it is the turn of the Jawa 42 FJ, a mount that shares certain similarities at first glance, but as the details become known it is seen that it actually has notable differences.

As for the engine, it uses the brand’s so-called Alpha2. A liquid-cooled twin-cylinder, 334 ccwhich offers around the 28 HP power and a torque that is situated at 29.6 NmAs for the transmission, we find a six-speed gearbox and an anti-rebound clutch that seeks to increase comfort. A system that in recent years has not only been used on sports bikes and that especially helps to make downshifts smoother and without jerks.

The Jawa 42 FJ joins the rest of the components of the manufacturer’s “saga 42”

As for the cycle part we find a double cradle tubular chassis that seeks, on the one hand, the greatest possible stability and on the other to be effective in curves on a motorcycle that has 1,440 millimeters wheelbase. As for the brakes, they both have ABS and disc brakes at the front and rear, while the alloy wheels are 18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear.

As expected for this type of bike, they have opted for a double rear shock absorber that is adjustable in 5 preload positions. At the front, also a classic in these combinations, the Jawa 42 FJ has telescopic bars with a diameter of 41 millimetres.

And since we are talking about pure data, we must not overlook, and this is never better said, the distance from the seat to the ground, which is situated at a presumably accessible to all audiences of 790 millimetres.

The riding position and seat height make it seem, at first glance, like a comfortable bike.

Finally, in addition to mentioning that the Jawa 42 FJ will be available in six available finishes, it must be said that its weight is 184 kg (without specifying whether it is dry or with full tanks) and that its fuel tank has a capacity of 12 liters, a reasonable amount and in line with what we can expect from a motorcycle of this style.
