Broking the equator last year 2022 began to sound the rumors about the possible arrival of a Z400Rs variant to the range of kawasaki models. This fact was associated with the imminent launch of the ZX-4R Ninja, which would debut just a few months later.
However, a few weeks before, Honda announced the withdrawal of the CB400 Super Four market, the last 4 online cylinders of its category that was only marketed in the Japanese country. So what does a new Z400Rs have a new invoice?
The Z400rs could be just around the corner
Answering the last issue we must affect the fact of the launch of the exclusive Ninja ZX-4R, in order to put in context the raison d’être of this Z400rs. In addition, everything is reduced to the fact of the existence of the new 399 cc tetracylinder engine that mounts Akashi’s exuberant.
That same block would be in charge of promoting the expected Z400rs, although it would probably be soft for the occasion, taking into account the use of such a model. Recall that in the Ninja variant it generates up to 79 hp of power at 14,500 rpm, and has up to four different driving modes: Sport, Road, Rain and Rider and Ktrc (Kawasaki Traction Control).
In the case of the Z400Rs, it would not be required of some borrowing figures of this level, and if that aura heritage offered by the models of the range baptized under the acronym RS (Kawasaki Z650rs and Kawasaki Z900rs). In addition, from the Japanese media Young Machine suggests that the possibility of a variant would fit, equipped with some improvements in its cycle part, as well as a higher level of finishes and equipment.
We do not know if finally the desired Z400rs will end up calling itself or the brand will be inclined to another commercial denomination. In the hype there are also other emblematic acronyms such as FX and Zephyr. The latter are what Kawasaki used until 2008, at which time his iconic Zephyr 400 in Japan discontinued, the only place where he was already marketed.
Now it is only necessary to wait for the Japanese brand to decide how, when and where it will make its New Z400Rs known (or baptized under another name), but especially if, just as it has done with the ZX-4R Ninja, it will also offer it in our market. Only time will say it and we will be here to tell you.
