One more season, Kawasaki is doing its best to provide its Z900 RS 2026 range with the best components and technologies. The model features a number of important upgrades that add to its rider-focused personality.
The timeless and iconic Z retro sports car receives a series of engine, chassis and electronics updates that elevate the RS concept to the next level.
Kawasaki Z900 RS 2026 engine
At the heart of the 2026 Z900 RS is its 948cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke inline-four engine, upgraded to deliver smooth low-rev performance and greater high-rev excitement. That remains for 2026, but new features abound, such as electronic throttle valves (ETV), and a Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS).
The Japanese brand declares a final power of 116 hp at 9,500 rpma maximum torque of 98 Nm at 7,700 revolutions and an approved consumption of 5 liters per 100 km traveled. This last piece of information, together with its fuel tank with the capacity to hold up to 17 liters, allows us to travel distances of more than 300 kilometers between refuelings.
In addition, two versions will be available for holders of the current A2 license, 70 kW and 35 kW respectively, which will make the magnificent Z900 RS accessible to a greater number of followers.
Cycle part of the Kawasaki Z900 RS 2026
The Z900 RS 2026 is built around a high-strength steel frame. Suspension and brake components are comparable to those of a modern supersport model, with a 41mm inverted fork with adjustable damping and a horizontal back-link rear suspension contributing to a comfortable ride and sporty performance.
For the front brakes, the brand uses double 300 mm semi-floating discs and radial monobloc calipers with 4 opposed pistons. Behind we find a single disc, 250 mm in diameter and a single-piston caliper. The equipment is integrated into two 17” alloy wheels, shod in turn with tires in sizes 120/70 and 180/55, front and rear respectively.
At the general level, the brand declares a wheelbase of 1,465 mm, while the driver’s seat is located 835 mm from the ground. Regarding its length, width and maximum height, the Japanese firm approves total measurements of 2100 x 865 x 1150 mm. Finally, in terms of weight, the 2026 Z900 RS tips the scales at 216 kg in running order.
Equipment and finishes of the Kawasaki Z900 RS 2026
Bridging the gap between technique and style, a relaxed, upright riding position offers comfort and control thanks to features such as the optional 810mm low seat height, compared to the standard 835mm height. A new redesigned exhaust gives the bike an even more intoxicating look and sound, emphasizing the timeless concept of the RS family.
And speaking of looks, the 2026 Z900RS continues with a seamless blend of Z1-inspired elements and modern craftsmanship, from the iconic teardrop fuel tank and distinctive tail design to the innovative oval LED taillight. Exquisite attention to detail and superb finishing result in a high-quality appearance, without neglecting functional beauty, which remains a priority.
For example, the elegant raised fins integrated into the cylinder head create the impression of an air-cooled engine. Smartphone connectivity allows riders to connect to their motorcycle, wirelessly, using the Rideology The App Motorcycle app for an enhanced riding experience.
Likewise, on the right side of the handlebars there is a USB-C socket, while the electronic cruise control and an IMU-equipped rider assistance technology package includes Kawasaki Corner Management Function (KCMF).
