The Austrian group KTM AG returns to normal after a turbulent period loaded with unknowns and economic difficulties. New KTM 690 Enduro R and SMC R 2026: What is expected of them

As we have known recently, thanks to Motorcycle’s colleagues, KTM would have requested the certification of its new 690 Enduro R and SMC R 2026 before the California Air Resources Board (Carb). In the detailed of said documentation, reference is made to some changes related to its well -known LC4 engine, these are able to adapt to the demanding Euro5+regulations.

Until now this mechanic was called internal code under the key “KTXC069.esm”, something that will not be so from now on. According to the information provided by the brand itself, the new Enduro R and SMC R 2026 will be driven by the type engine “KTXC0.69LC4”confirming that some relevant changes have been carried out in this specific section.

In fact, KTM UK published an NDP in reference to its new 690 Enduro R 2026 in which it confirmed that it will be equipped with “An improved engine that offers a larger torque compared to its predecessor, with an updated chassis for a better feeling and rigidity, and wrapped in a new ergonomic body.” He concluded predicting that “The complete specifications of the model will be available after the official launch at the end of the summer of 2025.”

In the same way that the new KTM 690 Enduro R and SMC R 2026 will enjoy a series of improvements for next year, it is also confirmed that these changes will also be implemented in their homonyms of Husqvarna. We talk about The 701 Enduro and 701 Supermotoalso certified in the US patent office as models 2026. On the contrary, the same has not happened with the current SM 700 gas and is 700.

All this suggests that the latter do not continue to be part of the gas range next year. In any case, it is very likely that KTM AG announce all these novelties for the next Milan 2025 Hall, along with others that have not yet been unveiled by the Austrian group.
