Los Angeles firefighters use electric motorcycles to arrive faster

It has recently arrived at the facilities of the Los Angeles Fire Department a consignment of 30 units of E Ride Proincluded within the new Electric Motorcycle Response Program that, as the center’s own management argues, “will get paramedics and trained medics to a patient’s side faster than traditional ground units.”

The reason, as they explain themselves, is the ability of this type of electric motorcycle to circulate. “through traffic, crowds and hard-to-reach areas, delivering critical care and real-time intelligence when seconds matter.” The body’s intention is to use them in various emergency situations, as well as during the celebration of large-scale events such as marathons and parades, to stuck traffic emergencies.

Los Angeles Firefighters looking for new mobility options

There is no doubt that a frame as light and versatile as the E Ride Pro can be truly efficient when intervening in emergency situations. Whether in off-road terrain or disaster zones where access is limited, Los Angeles Firefighters are clear about their role and how best to accomplish it.

Now, thanks to the generous contribution of Google and YouTube, which donated 30 units of E Ride Pro to the Los Angeles Fire Department, it seems that it will be able to act more quickly thanks to the features offered by these plug-in off-road vehicles. As one of the officers of this force explains to the Ride Apart colleagues, “Members of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) will receive additional training and certification for off-road driving.”

Furthermore, in favor of the use of this type of vehicle within the Los Angeles Fire Department, it alleges: “Electric motorcycles will allow us to access remote areas and move through large concentrations of people.” He also states that the choice of electric motorcycles is not a coincidence:

“In areas where the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) plans to use these tools, the noise from gasoline-powered motorcycles would cause a nuisance to the public.” Let’s hope the same thing doesn’t happen to them as the police department in Idaho that, like them, also chose to include electric motorcycles in its mobile equipment, although they ended up burning inside the main garage as a result of “a defective battery.”

Let’s look at it on the bright side: if the new fleet of E Ride Pro mounts catches fire, who better than the Los Angeles Fire Department to put out the fire, right?
