Jorge Martín will not compete in the Malaysian GP, this has been confirmed by Aprilia during the Australian GP that is underway. The Spanish driver continues to recover from the complex clavicle fracture he suffered during the Japanese GP three weeks ago after the serious accident he suffered.
Precisely that accident is still under investigation by the panel of stewards, which is waiting for a hearing to be held with the pilot to settle the matter and determine some type of sanction if appropriate.
It must be remembered that the crash occurred in Saturday’s race when Martín lost control of his Aprilia RS-GP at the start, falling and taking over his teammate Marco Bezzecchi, after it was Martín himself who hit Marco’s bike.
Skipping the Malaysian GP allows a recovery period of a month and a half from the accident
Despite the severity of the fall and the injury, in a year that is being especially difficult for the MotoGP World Champion, it can be looked at with a certain positive perspective. FIt was a really hard blow, in the middle of the pack and despite it being a complex clavicle fracture it was just that.
Now the next opportunity to see Jorge Martín return to action is the Portuguese GP, which will be held just a month and a half after the injury and, therefore, realistic deadlines are beginning to appear if the healing of the fracture is correct and the recovery is on the right track.
Even so, this confirmation of Martín’s absence in the Malaysian GP implies that once again the Aprilia rider himself, Maverick Viñales and Marc Márquez will miss the penultimate GP of the season, since in the case of the other two Spaniards their absence was already confirmed in both Australia and the Asian country.
