Miguel Oliveira, who is currently in his sixth year in the premier class and who has already accumulated fourteen years in the paddock, arrives with an extensive career and multiple achievements both in MotoGP and in the lower categories. Among his merits are: 17 race wins (5 in MotoGP, 6 in Moto2 and 6 in Moto3) and 41 podiums (7 in MotoGP, 21 in Moto2 and 13 in Moto3), in addition to a recent podium at the Sachsenring Sprint race this year.
These are some impressive numbers for a rider who is considered one of the most technical and intelligent on the grid. Miguel Oliveira is a specialist in wet racing, a skill that is usually associated with riders with truly prodigious hands and hopefully in this new stage with Yamaha, he can continue to demonstrate that this is the case. It was a complete success for Lin Jarvis to bring to Yamaha someone with the experience, technique and wisdom of a rider like Miguel. Together they will surely return the Japanese brand to the top positions in the top category of motorcycling.
Now, let’s read the protagonists.
Miguel Oliveira:
“It is a great privilege for me to represent such an iconic brand in our sport as Yamaha. Throughout my years of progression and arrival in MotoGP™, I have always looked at the blue bikes with great enthusiasm.”
“It is now a reality, and I want to thank Yamaha Motor Company for their commitment to me in such an important transition phase of the project. Mr. Lin Jarvis was a key figure in initiating the discussions and making this happen. I believe I can be helpful in this transition period to bring the bike back to the top.”
“I would like to thank Mr. Campinoti, Gino Borsoi and all the staff at Pramac for taking us on this journey together. I couldn’t be happier and more excited to start this new chapter.”
Lin Jarvis:
“We are pleased to announce that an experienced and professional rider like Miguel Oliveira is joining the Yamaha line-up for 2025-26, and we warmly welcome him to the Yamaha MotoGP project.”
“Miguel is a rider who has the technical knowledge, experience, speed and precision required to improve the performance of the Yamaha YZR-M1. We look forward to working with him as a key member of the Yamaha MotoGP™ project, and he can count on our full support.”
