With a Countryman larger than ever, it was necessary to have a small SUV in the range. For this, the MINI Aceman arrived on the market, which will have a 100% electric sports variant in 2025, the MINI Aceman John Cooper Works.
Presented at the Paris Motor Show together with the MINI John Cooper Works, the most powerful version of the Aceman shares the electric motor of 258 HP and 350 Nm of torquewhich allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds (slightly slower than the three-door model), with a maximum speed limited to 200 km/h so as not to drain its 54.2 battery too quickly. gross kWh of capacity, with which it homologates 355 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle.
It is possible to have a little more power (20 kW, about 27 HP), by activating the kart mode by pressing the boost button of the steering wheel. It lasts a few seconds and makes overtaking maneuvers easier by accelerating better.
There are, obviously, aesthetic differences with the rest of the range. The red, white and black John Cooper Works logo is on the gloss black grille, while when you open the doors you are greeted by the logo projected onto the floor. Other specific elements are the daytime running lights, the black skirts, the red spoiler or the vertical diffusers, as well as the brake system with Chili Red calipers, which are seen behind the 19-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin exudes sportiness, with black and red dashboard trim adorning the dashboard, while the seats feature black synthetic leather upholstery with multi-colour fabric and contrasting red stitching. The 240 mm diameter OLED screen is not missing, which shows all relevant data and navigation (in 3D and augmented reality). The Parking Assistant Professional uses 12 ultrasonic sensors and four Surround View cameras to detect parking spaces and automatically initiate the maneuver.
