They have spent practically six years since Kymco registered “the patent of the Kymco Supernex: the sport we want.” Subsequently, the Taiwanese brand has been offering new updates periodically on the project, where the model’s Naked variant, the Revonex, is also included. In fact, the latest news we had of two concepts was precisely last summer.
Then we knew that “Kymco will build its Revonex and Supernex electric on the Harley-Davidson Arrow platform.” This news came hand in hand along with the association announcement between both brands. As we told you at the time, Kymco would be in charge of manufacturing the Livewire S3, a fact that would finally lead to the use of this same platform to give life to the aforementioned Supernex and Revonex.
The most aerodynamic supernex than ever
Recently, some images of one of the last patent records carried out by Kymco have been leaked. In the application, as Ben Purvis details from Cycle World, records the new active front spoiler system in which the brand seems to be working. In addition, there is no doubt that it is the concept Supernex that could release this technology to finally become a reality.
In the detailed patent we can see how the initial ailerons that the model showed would now be totally mobile. These would be enabled to change their inclination angle based on the aerodynamic needs of each moment.
The descriptive document speaks that the drive could be manual or electronic. In the latter case it would be configured by a map scheduled in ECU itself.
The idea is to prevent the bike from getting up in full acceleration, in the purest WSBK or MotoGP style. The process generates aerodynamic load on the front wheel, something that is already implemented in other high -performance sports ones such as the exclusive KB998 Rimini, recently launched into the market in a limited series of just 500 copies.
In any case, beyond the possibility that this mobile spoiler system could reach the future Supernex, one wonders if the Asian firm ended up launching, sooner or later, the expected sport model plugphabable to the market.
For now, Kymco, has not been mentioned about this issue, so we can only continue doing what until now: wait.
