Morbidelli prepares an unprecedented 125 that aims directly at the offroad segment

In recent times Morbidelli seems to be very busy developing new models with which to continue expanding the already wide range it has. One of these future possibilities is this T125WRrecently registered in China by the brand itself. The images offer us a clear perspective of what we can expect and this is nothing more than a mount with a clear off-road focus never seen to date on other motorcycles from the brand.

Morbidelli T125WR: what we know

The Cycle World colleagues were some of the first to echo these images from the Chinese patent registry. They show in detail the design of the future Morbidelli model. The T125WR (that seems to be the name with which it was initially homologated) is the brand’s first motorcycle with a clearly hard-core DNA.

This does not mean that its use cannot be extrapolated to other terrains, although initially its ideal environment would be off-road. The shapes of its engine are also striking, different from those shown in the brand’s current 125 models classified within the Trail category. Let us remember that in this segment Morbidelli has the services of its current T125 and T125X.

However, with this T125WR the Italian firm would go one step further in terms of hardness; Its long-travel suspension equipment, radial rims and knobby tires take this into account. The rest of the set is characterized by the simplicity and lightness that off-road motorcycles of this type usually offer.

The minimalism of its front light projector, the brake discs type wave on both axles or a narrow and compact bench seat suitable for up to two passengers. Although no technical data has been revealed, it is likely that we will soon know some more in-depth details of what we can expect from this T125WR.

Likewise, the brand has not clarified whether this model will end up being offered in these parts. It is reasonable to think that sooner or later it will join the rest of the options that make up the Morbidelli range. Be that as it may, we have to wait for the brand to speak out on the matter as it has already done, for example, after the launch of its new Timeless 1200, a direct rival for the Triumph Bonneville with a 1200 engine and a groundbreaking price.
