The world of motorcycling lived an unforgettable evening in the Rímini Amintore Galli Theaterwhere MotoGP brought together some of the most iconic names in history to give life to their expected Hall of Fame. An appointment full of emotion and symbolism in which the heroes of the past was honored, the contemporary champions were recognized and looked at each other with ambition towards the future.
The first honored in the Hall of Fame
The night began with a tribute to great deceased legends that marked the golden age of motorcycling: Umberto Massetti, Geoff Duke, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and Barry Sheene. All of them became part of the new Hall of Fame since its inauguration.
Subsequently, the recognition was transferred to the champions present or represented through special messages. Figures like Giacomo Agostiniwith its eight titles and 68 victories, Kenny RobertsAmerican pioneer with three crowns, or Freddie Spencercapable of winning in two categories the same year, were protagonists of the ceremony. They were also present Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz, Mick Doohan, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzowho shared stage and memories.
The evening culminated in the entrance to the Hall of Fame of Valentino Rossiindisputable MotoGP icon, which was received with a unanimous ovation when celebrating its seven titles in the queen category and its fundamental role in the popularization of the world championship.
THE NEW TORRE OF THE CHAMPIONS
In addition to the Hall of Fame, the renewed was presented Champions towerthe most emblematic trophy of motorcycling. With an aluminum base covered in ceramics and stainless steel plates recorded with the names of the 76 Champions of Historythe new design symbolizes the speed, value and innovation that define the championship.
Each plate includes the name of the pilot, its title, the manufacturer and the number with which the glory conquered, leaving space reserved for future generations that will add to this exclusive list.
Three new legends in 2026
The gala also announced that next year they will be incorporated into the group of MotoGP Legends Three historical champions: Leslie Graham (1949), Libero Liberati (1957) and Gary Hocking (1961). With them, MotoGP will complete a circle in which all world champions will have their place in history as legends.
A living legacy
The event, presented as MotoGP iconicit was not only a celebration of the past, but a declaration of intentions for the future. With the season still underway and the San Marino GP just around the corner, MotoGP remembers that the greatness of its history inspires every return on track.
