Norton chassis, Harley engine and legend style

Norton preparations, especially those that equip a motor different from the standard, leave us as striking as the “Norley” Onyx of Cédric Camiade, a specialist in the field that has been dedicated to the construction of hybrid projects of this style for several years. As in other similar customizations, its creator Marida perfectly the famous Featherbed chassis of the English firm, with an original motor of another brand.

“Norley” Onyx by Cédric Camiade in detail

As they count from Bike Bound, after interviewing the protagonist of this project, Cédric Camiade spent several years building preparations for the style of this “Norley” Onyx. However, for a while to this part, he decided that he would only do so for his own personal use and enjoyment. In this way, he started working on the motorcycle that you can see in the images.

Apparently, Cédric, on a trip to Sri Lanka, ran into a “Norley” for sale, which finally ended up buying, although with a disappointing final result, since the motorcycle was not in good condition in general terms. However, this was not something that made it change their minds about what the final result of such a preparation should be.

As a positive point we have the main platform that makes up the motorcycle, composed of a Norton FeatherbeD chassis next to a Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 engine (Evolution). To her were added from a new tire, a Ceriani fork set and a pair of more efficient lateral shock absorbers and in tune with the geometries that its owner was looking for.

A new rear fender was also installed, side covers made of stainless steel, and a support kit with which to be able to anchor the posterior lighting equipment. Cédric also elaborated on his own an escape system, with a superior double output, which gives this “Norley” a unique image.

Once finished, Camiade decided to nick her under the name of “The Onyx” in honor of the personalized ring that he ordered to commission in the same place where he found the motorcycle, and in which he was inspired for the general design of this preparation. About her, as he recounts: “I built this bicycle because I really wanted something very unusual.”

And it continues: “Normally, the Norton are racing machines. I wanted to change the rules and make them much more sophisticated, elegant and completely unique. In March 2024, in Galle, a city south of Sri Lanka, I was commissioned to measure, with silver engas and a intense black ónix stone.”

“During the trip, I kept looking at the motorcycle sales ads when I met a Norley. An unusual motorcycle, never manufactured in series. An ingenious combination of Norton and Harley. Neither one nor the other. I contacted the seller and programmed the purchase for my return to France.”

Concludes: “The idea of associating the motorcycle with the jewel quickly arose, thus creating a combination of chrome that evokes silver and black body for the ónix. Travel memory, this jewel finds its place both on the road and among the motorcycles of the most beautiful shows.”

Now Cedric has decided to put this “Norley” Onyx on sale to continue financing new projects. If there is any interested in the room to lift your hand … or better, you can contact your creator and owner in any of your social networks.
