With the Yamaha R1 you couldn’t win in the WSBK… until Razgatlioglu arrived. With the BMW M1000RR you couldn’t win in WSBK… until Razgatlioglu arrived. With a BMW R 1300 GS you can’t juggle in a karting… until Razgatlioglu did. And, of course, you can’t do stunts with a BMW M 1000 RR… until, yes you guessed it, Toprak Razgatlioglu did it.
And the Turkish, two-time WSBK champion and future MotoGP rider, shows us every so often, whether on the track or on social media, that his talent seems to know no limits. It seems that there is nothing that he does not dare, but of course, what is clear is that with everything he dares, he ends up succeeding.
Razgatlioglu doing stunt with the stock motorcycle
That is why it is surprising and at the same time not surprising to see him doing stunts with a stock BMW M 1000 RR. And yes, although it appears decorated like his racing motorcycle, in reality we are looking at a street motorcycle, without a license plate, of course, but with its headlights, its catalytic converter and all the elements that the series model has (kickstand included ).
That adds extra complication to the entire operation, because one of the secrets that stunt motorcycles have is that the development is modified to be able to do wheelies in a short space.
This makes the bike more critical, but makes it easier to get up almost from a standstill. Even with those and putting several feet on the ground that in trials would have earned him many points, Razgatlioglu shows a confidence and control that many of us would sign without thinking.
One more example that, although there is no doubt that he makes an effort every day and that to reach that level, there are hours and hours and more hours on the motorcycle and thousands of liters of gasoline spent. The talent that Toprak has is at the level of a select few.
The truth is that seeing the skill he has in making figures and what he likes, the day he leaves racing many years from now he could start doing exhibitions along with the best stunt drivers. I’m sure that with planned and specific training it wouldn’t be out of place at all.
