At the end of last year, 2023, one of the most anticipated mounts by Royal Enfield lovers, the Himalayan 450, was launched on the market. However, as we have learned from the Indian colleagues at Autocar India, this rush to put the long-awaited model into orbit ADV of the brand, brought with it some initial resignations within the standard equipment it offered in India. Among them are tubeless type rims and tires.
But that seems to have changed in the last renovation that the model has undergone, also becoming the brand’s first motorcycle to equip a set of wheels and tires of this type. Of course, in India anyone who wants their Himalayan with tubeless wheels will have to pay an extra 11,000 rupees, something like 120 euros to change.
The Himalayan 450 even more prepared for adventure
This whole issue seems to have arisen as a result of complaints from users in the Asian country, who have had problems finding cameras of the same size as the Himalayan 450. This inconvenience, however, does not It occurred in the units that the brand exported to foreign countries, since there, as is the case in Spain, this type of rims prepared to include tubeless tires is already offered, as an option.
Beyond this small improvement, the Himalayan 450 remains unchanged in the rest of the specifications it offers. Both its engine and the cycle part or the standard equipment remain the same, initially, for the start of the 2025 season. Let us remember that the Indo-British ADV equips a new single-cylinder engine of 451.65cccapable of generating 40 HP at 8,000 rpm and deliver a maximum torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
For its part, the dynamic section of the chassis includes a completely redesigned double-beam chassis, as well as a 43 mm Showa inverted fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking uses a 320mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the rear, both assisted by dual-channel ABS that can be deactivated at the rear wheel.
