A Husqvarna that is part of the history of the Dakar
The protagonist of this initiative is not a production motorcycle prepared to look like a competition machine. It is about the Husqvarna FR 450 Rally Factory used by the driver in the 2020 edition of the Dakar. As you can imagine, a motorcycle developed specifically to meet the demands of the highest level rally raid.
With it, the Chilean rider achieved second position in the general classification and 2 stage victories. That result meant the best position in Husqvarna in the history of Dakar until that moment, making this unit an especially significant piece for both the athlete and the brand.

The machine has a 4-stroke single-cylinder engine of approximately 450 cc, powered by electronic injection and associated with a 6-speed gearbox. Its configuration includes suspensions WPFactory specific for rally and 21-inch wheels at the front and 18 at the rear, a combination designed to face long days on sand, fast tracks and especially demanding terrain.
Quintanilla He kept the motorcycle in his garage after that race. Now he has decided to share it with his followers instead of keeping it as a private memory of his sporting career.

From world titles to a solidarity campaign
The initiative also connects with the legacy of one of the most outstanding rally raid drivers in recent years. Quintanilla conquered the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship in 2016 and 2017, in addition to getting on the podium of the Dakar on 3 occasions. 5 five seasons he competed with Husqvarna Factory Racinga stage in which he consolidated his position among the world’s leading specialists in the discipline.
The idea of organizing the campaign arose while preparing a book about his 13 years of experience. As he reviewed the races, the difficult moments and the great results of his career, he inevitably returned to the Dakar of 2020 and the motorcycle he had kept since then.
The project took on additional meaning by linking it with Our Children Foundation. The entity has been working since 1991 to improve the survival and quality of life of children and young people with cancer, in addition to offering support to their families during the different stages of the disease. A portion of campaign proceeds will go toward supporting that work.
