Peugeot wants to put an end to the ghosts of its reliability with up to eight years of warranty

In recent times, Peugeot and other firms that were part of PSA (and now Stellantis) have had some problems with the reliability of their engines. Specifically, the three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech gave quite a few problems with its wet timing belt. Although the brand has been gradually offering solutions and solving the problem in the new ones; it seems that the bad reputation continues to haunt them. Now they want to put an end to those ghosts by offering up to eight years warranty in their new cars.

It is something they already did in the 100% electric models of their family, in which they had the program Peugeot Allure Care. However, now they want to make a statement and demonstrate that they trust in the reliability of their entire range. That is why the extendable warranty also extends to the rest of hybrid or thermal modelswithout the distinction that existed until now. It is applicable to gasoline engines, diesel engines, hybrid versions and also plug-in hybrids, in addition to electric engines to which it was being applied.

The Peugeot Allure Care warranty can be applied to all models as long as the maintenance operations are carried out maintenance in official network workshops of the brand throughout the commitment period. This means that it would be covered for eight years or 160,000 kilometers (whichever comes first) and works as follows. It is valid for the three years of the manufacturer’s legal warranty and then another five years of special coverage are added, with maintenance being carried out by them. This includes cars from individuals, self-employed workers and companies; but not from rental companies, driving schools, taxis or rental companies.

One of the main advantages of Peugeot Allure Care is that it covers the replacement (including labor) of mechanical, electrical or electronic partsdefective on any of its cars. However, official inspections must be carried out every year or every 20,000 kilometres on its petrol, diesel, hybrid or plug-in hybrid models. To celebrate its launch, this special coverage guarantee will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Totally free until November 30th. An interesting option for those who want to be quiet.
