Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade: seeking the limits of exclusivity

We could say that the world of luxury knows no limits. We have already seen on many occasions the millions that are paid for a vehicle and, in that aspect, exclusivity has a lot to do with it. It is not the same to have a mass-produced car of which there are thousands alike than to have a totally unique and unrepeatable example. That is why models such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jadebecause having a “normal” Taycan is not the same as having one with an unprecedented configuration.

This is a work done by the individualization program Special needs Exclusive Manufaktur, which is responsible for the brand’s most special projects. In this case, it was a request from Porsche Asia Pacific, the division of one of the fastest growing regions worldwide. The idea is to exhibit it during the next year and auction it off for charity for some wealthy customer to take home to his garage. And the work that has been done on this unit is truly priceless…

The first thing to say is that it is based on the Taycan Turbo S, the top-of-the-range variant of the electric car, which has 952 HP of power and with Launch Control it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds. The inspiration has been taken from the jade stonea green mineral that has a lot of meaning in Asia (according to Chinese mythology, it comes from the dragon). An exemplary tribute was paid to the color of the stone through an unpublished painting that has a lot of history behind it.

This is the first time that Porsche mix two «Chromaflair» effect paintssomething that has been done by hand and has required a process of 80 hours of work. The fact is that each of the paintings have very thin layers that seem to change color depending on how you look at them. In the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade a gradient has been applied of this combination of tones Urban Bamboo (a bright green with yellow and gold tones) and the Shifting Carbon (a dark grey with black and blue tones) for a stunning effect.

It has also been designed a specific logo with Asian airs. It is in several points of the vehicle and refers to the mythological being LongMawhich has a dragon’s head and a horse’s body. A symbol of good luck, it is present on the door sills, in the lighting when they are opened and on the headrests. On the other hand, there is a varnished carbon finish that replaces the Turbonite and the dark green upholstery that comes from combining Slate gray with the Englishgreen through the “Leather to Sample” program.
