Pure retro-looking efficiency on and off road

Just a few days ago we informed you about the project that CCM has been working on in recent times: “Project X”. As the British brand itself had announced, it would be the Motorcycle Live 2024 event, held in Birmingham, where they would show for the first time this initial concept of what should become their new medium-displacement trail model. Those from Bolton have kept their promise and, as usual, they have left us with a very good taste in our mouths with what this initial prototype offers us.

As we already told you, the final model that comes out of this “Project “a dual-sport Enduro bike, in the style of the GP450, that combines performance, versatility and a unique combination of fun and light handling.” To do this, they make use of their well-known 600 cc single-cylinder mechanics associated with a 6-speed gearbox, offering as a final result a final power 55 HP and a maximum torque of 50 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

CCM Project

We must admit that these first images of CCM’s Project Developed under an irresistible classic look, but loaded to the teeth with top-level equipment. This is also the case with this latest prototype, as explained Jason BroomeCEO of CCM Motorcycles to MCN colleagues:

“We have been listening to our customers and they have asked us for a motorcycle that truly represents our heritage. With Project We are very excited to bring this motorcycle to market and see it become the next great chapter in CCM’s history. We will be accepting pre-orders at Motorcycle Live. We also hope to reveal the official name of the project in the near future.”

The exhibited prototype has, among others, a Baja-looking front screen, complemented by the headlight protector, the side number holders or the bulbous shapes of its tank. Radial type wheels, 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, shod with Offroad tires, do the rest in terms of that classic image that CCM tries to convey with this Project X.

Now, appearance is one thing and the equipment intended for the motorcycle’s efficiency, on and off the road, is quite another. In addition to the aforementioned mechanics, this initial concept uses a tubular-type steel chassis and subframe, along with a first-class suspension team, highlighting its imposing front inverted fork signed by WP. At the back we find a fully adjustable monoshock and at both ends CCM is committed to long distances to be able to tackle any type of route we propose.

Braking is carried out by two “wave” type discs, one per axle. Other notable details are, for example, the aluminum skid plate, a circular TFT instrument panel, the voluminous rear handle for the passenger or a completely handmade exhaust system specific to the model.

CCM is expected to offer us more details about the final model in the coming months and its launch will be made official throughout 2025.
