Segway has recently presented its new range of electric motorcycles at EICMA 2026, in Milan. The debut of Segway Orca Concept, Series X and Segway
In 1999 the brand was a pioneer in self-balancing mobility; Since then, through electric scooters, motorized sports vehicles, go-karts, electric bicycles and off-road electric products, the company has developed capabilities in intelligent control, electric propulsion and battery management, human-machine interaction, connected vehicles and global product operations.
Segway Orca Concept
Segway Orca Concept explores the future of high-performance electric maxi scooters through an 800 V architecture (650 V nominal) and a capacity of almost 20 kWh battery. Supports automotive-grade AC and DC charging and external power supply to explore more two-wheeled mobility applications.
The objectives to be achieved by the brand include 300 km of autonomyacceleration 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and be able to have 200 km of autonomy in 20 minutes. In the purely technical part, the front and rear multi-link suspension is designed to reduce sag during braking and separate the steering and suspension functions, favoring steering rigidity and control with a greater curb weight.
The in-house developed CTB chassis integrates the battery into the body structure to increase available space and rigidity, while addressing weight, repairability and storage. Multi-mode CDC damping presets cover urban use, leisure touring and sport riding, with settings for riding alone or with a passenger.
The brand clarifies in any case about this futuristic design: “These are conceptual technology lines and current engineering objectives, not confirmed production specifications. Range, acceleration and charging performance depend on test, operating and loading conditions.”
Segway X Series
Designed for off-road driving, rally competitions and difficult terrain, the X Series includes the Xaber X1000, Xaber 350, Xaber 300 for the United States, Xaber 300 DS for Europe and the existing Segway In this context Michelin has been named official technical sponsor of the Segway Dakar Rally Factory Team.
The brand will provide professional tires and technical resources to support validation in the extreme off-road conditions of the Dakar. “Both companies will use the long distances, sustained loads, temperature changes and diverse terrain of the Dakar as a joint R&D and real-world validation platform to evaluate tire-vehicle compatibility, durability, reliability and energy efficiency in electric off-road applications.”they explain from Segway.
Segway X cruiser
Segway X cruiser applies automotive-inspired safety design to a two-wheeled, single-track vehicle. Automotive crash scenarios guide its design, with cage and semi-cage structures, four-way collision protection, graded energy absorption and restraint belts intended to improve driver protection.
BSD and LCW are security features enabled as standard. CTB battery and body integration optimizes rigidity and space for the battery, allowing almost 200 km of autonomy. European versions include 4.5 kW Type 2 AC charging; The Chinese offer higher power DC fast charging as an option.
The 15-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear wheel use Michelin City Grip tires, along with an aerodynamic design and ergonomics designed for a stable, comfortable and quiet ride. A 10.25-inch TFT screen is standard, while a 55L power trunk is optional.
