There may be those who miss a sporty variant in the current Skoda Superb range, a sort of RS in the image and likeness of the Skoda Octavia RS. It will not arrive, but the Skoda Superb Sportline will, which gives it a sportier aesthetic without losing the elegance that has characterized the large saloon throughout its history. This finish represents an extra price of 4,500 euros compared to the entry-level Selection finish.
It shares elements that we have seen in other models of the brand with this finish, such as the specific grille frame in black, matching the window frames and exterior mirrors. There is no lack of specific mouldings or a front apron and the black logo at the rear, as well as the spoiler on the tailgate and on the rear diffuser. The rear windows are tinted and the side windows have laminated glass to reduce the noise that reaches the passenger compartment.
If you choose the estate body style, the Skoda Superb Combi, the roof bars are also in that colour. It is fitted with 18-inch Vela alloy wheels in anthracite (optional are 19-inch black Torcular wheels or the aerodynamic silver Aniara wheels of the same size with matt black Aero trim).
Inside the Skoda Superb Sportline there are two options within the Design Selections from the brand:
- Suedia Sport: Electrically adjustable seats, upholstered in Suedia and synthetic leather.
- Sport Suite: AGR-certified seats with memory function, ventilation and massage with ten pneumatically controlled air cushions, upholstered in perforated leather and synthetic leather. Obviously paid for as an extra.
Both models share sports front seats with integrated and heated headrests, a black roof, carbon-effect mouldings, stainless steel pedals, a sports steering wheel with black stitching and specific graphics for the Virtual Cockpit (the 10-inch digital instrument panel).
In Europe it can be chosen with the entire mechanical range: gasoline engine TSI 150 or 265 hpdiesel 150 and 193 hp TDI or the plug-in hybrid 204 hp iV. It also includes a sports chassis that lowers the ground clearance by 15 mm and progressive steering. The DCC Sport system is a separate payment.
Positioned in the middle of the range (without being as luxurious as the L&K), it features Matrix LED headlights and LED taillights with dynamic indicators or the Kessy Advanced, which debuts an automatic locking and unlocking function and adds illumination to the exterior handles. There is also a three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel with black stitching, ambient lighting or the 13-inch infotainment screen as standard.
