Once again, the male team arrived as a favorite to the 2025 nations trial with Toni Bou, 38 times world champion, Jaime Busto and Gabriel Marcelli. The women’s team repeated the 2024 squad, Berta Abellán, newly proclaimed world champion, and the young pilots Laia Pi and Daniela Hernando. The three Spanish pilots were colossal, and good sample are only the 30 points they added in total, compared to 79 of Great Britain and the 85 of Italy.
In this way, Spain adds a new title in the trial of the nations that follows, year after year, unstoppable. Regarding the objective of the women’s team in this 2025 trial was trying to go back to the podium, and if they could improve the third place last year, better. However, the three pilots gave everything they had to lead the race during both laps, although in the last areas, the Italians managed to tie.
Trial of the Nations 2025: Spanish fief
The nations trial has hosted this weekend a new edition in Tolmezzo (Italy). Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli, together with Jaime Busto, have formed the Spanish team this 2025. National training has once again imposed on the rest of the participating countries and has taken a new victory, surpassing Great Britain, which has been second, already Italy, which has occupied the third place.
After performing a great performance in the fifteen areas of action that formed the tour, the pilots who made up the Spanish team have taken a new victory. In total, Spain sum 31 titles in the nations trial, the last 21 consecutive. Toni Bou has been part of the national team 20 times. In the case of his partner, Gabriel Marcelli has been the third time he participated.
The Spanish team has led the competition from the first area, exceeding the return one with 18 penalty points plus 3 per time. For the second pass, Bou, Marcelli and Busto have maintained the same level, adding only 9 points when completing the complete route, thus taking the title. The next challenge for the Repsol Honda Trial HRC will be on October 4 with the beginning of the 2026 season of the X-Trial World Cup in Andorra.
As for the women’s team, with the race finished, the tiebreaker was missing and Spain had more zeros than Italy. However, a claim by the host country delayed the celebration until the delivery of medals. Berta, Laia and Daniela discovered that they had already won on the podium. This young team touches glory in its second edition of the Trial de las Naciones and shows us that the quarry of the female trial arrives very strongly.
After finishing this 2025 edition of the Trial of the Nations, Toni Bou has commented: “I am very happy with this new title in the Trial de las Naciones, this year we had a great team with my partner Gabri and Jaime. It is always a special competition and we have enjoyed the day. We have known how to maintain the concentration from the first area and we have achieved the goal. I want to thank the Spanish Federation who has counted with me another year and I am very happy with the new triumph. Now we focus on the next challenge that is the World Cup.

The victory of the women’s team is a surprise that we are very proud and happy. Congratulations to the six pilots, to the male team that continues to demonstrate that it is the best years after year and the girls who have shown us that they are capable of everything. Thank the RFME for making all this possible. “
