This weekend, the WSBK arrives at Motorland Aragón with Toprak Razgatlioglu as leader. But before disembarking in the Turolense layout, the BMW pilot was shooting on a track that he did not know, the circuit of the Americas, on a day of Alpha Racing in the American layout.
Toprak, which next year will have to compete in a dimension in one of his first races as a MotoGP pilot, took the opportunity to roll on a challenging track and more for a “rookie”. And we are talking about a circuit of linked curves, slopes, large braking … a track that beyond certain critical points in security, in the careers is incredible to roll.
And you have to see how Toprak Razgatlioglu rolled in the Tejano circuit … Alpha Racing made available to a BMW S1000RR that they defined as stock, but that of Stock is very little. And it does not mean that it is a motorcycle welcomed to the Superstock regulations, but that we are facing a motorcycle that you can buy, but that in reality it is a missile much closer to the WSBK than to the standard motorcycle.
Toprak’s time is so wild that it doesn’t stay very far from MotoGP
That is, it is a much bike that is purchased as standard and that begins to incorporate changes in certain key elements such as brakes, suspensions, escape, fibers, strokes … but without touching the chassis part and tilting that, coatings apart, seem like the factory. The changes in the engine are spectacular, so much that it rises to 250 hp and also thinns at 166 kg, dry. So it is not that it is a motorcycle to put registration and roll down the street and it has nothing to do with what would be a stock motorcycle in the competition term where the changes are much lower.
But that does not mean that the rhythm is impressive, because although it was the first time that Toprak was rolling in a dimension and that, they say, this quick turn corresponds to its second output to the track (something that has not been confirmed) the Turk was able to stop the chrono in 2: 06,790 2: 07.078.
Although we do not know in detail the preparation of Beaubier’s motorcycle, which is possible that by regulation be in the best case of the same level but lower, what is clear is that the time of Razgatlioglu is brutal beyond this. And it is that on a long and technical track to be able to go fast and by the site from the first moment it is something that is available to very few. By the way, the MotoGP race record is in the hands of Marc Márquez with 2.01.088 in 2025 and the fastest turn given by a motorcycle in those of Viñales with 2.00,864.
The slowest turn in 2025 in Q1 went to Salvadori with 2: 04.254, so with all these figures, beyond being or not faster than Beaubier, it can be understood how lately fast that it is a motorcycle derived as standard and more when a guy with the toprak talent rises to it.
