LS2 FF807 Dragon Test: Characteristics and Manufacturing Technologies
The LS2 FF807 Dragon helmet is a prominent example in the category of integral helmets designed for both sports driving, and for all use of motorcyclists seeking protection, comfort and style on their daily or even adventure routes.
With a modern and aerodynamic design, the FF807 Dragon combines advanced technology with high quality materials to offer higher performance in different conduction conditions.
The LS2 FF807 Dragon presents an aggressive and sports design, inspired by a mythical creature such as the dragon, which is reflected in its daring lines and aesthetic details such as the top of the visor. One of the parts that defines its versatility is the internal dark viewer, easy to drive from a tab located on its lower left edge.
Available in several combinations of colors and graphics, its aesthetics seeks to capture attention without sacrificing functionality. The shell, made of 6K carbon fiber, provides an ideal balance between light weight and resistance, allowing comfortable and safe conduction in long routes.
The final weight is 1,450 gr, with an oscillation of +-50 gr depending on the accessories included we install (stenra, breathson of breath and reflective adhesives)
It has strategically placed air inputs at the top, the lie and the back of the helmet, ensuring an efficient air circulation, keeping the pilot fresh even in hot environments or for long periods of use.
The ventilations are adjustable, allowing to customize the air flow according to the user’s needs. In addition, air exit at the back helps maintain a continuous flow and reduce condensation in the visor.
It incorporates two (clear and dark) screens with high strength with UV anti -trease and protection treatment, which improves durability and optical clarity. Both are ready to receive Pinlock® 120 Maxvision ™ (included), to avoid fogging. In addition, it has a quick release system to facilitate its replacement and maintenance.
The screen also has an integrated blocking system in a front button, ensuring safe fixation in different driving conditions, including high -speed or strong wind situations.
The interior of the helmet is equipped with EPS foam padding of different densities for better impact absorption, which provides a comfortable adjustment and adapts to the user’s head shape. It also helps channel the air from frontal and upper intakes to rear exits. In addition, the X-Static silver cloth lining ©, in addition to hypoallergenic, is completely removable and washable, facilitating its hygiene and maintenance.
Double D ring closure guarantees the best adjustment, security and lightness, complying with European security regulations ECE 22.06. It is prepared for the integration of LS2 Intercom communication systems, although I suspect that, for the space available inside, you can receive other systems that you can have.
LS2 FF807 sensations
The aforementioned ECE 22.06 requires that the impact tests be passed anywhere in the helmet. This has meant an increase in the weight of the helmets that exceed this approval, having to increase the thickness of the fiber used.
It can be argued that the LS2 FF807 is a relatively light helmet within the sport tourism, thanks to the use of carbon fiber; This is how he feels in his hands, but above all, in his head.
During the first uses and due to its sports design, I felt slightly pressured the cheeks, but it soon adapts to the contours of your cheeks and head. Now I can say that it is one of the most comfortable helmets than employment (and there are many), which is very useful when trying different types of motorcycles. I have used it in circuit and on road trips.
In the first case (circuit) I value ventilation capacity, because in circuit you sweat a lot, as well as high speed stability. On the road, I also value ventilation, but especially the versatility of the dark interior screen -Fácil to act-, so I can install the clear screen if I know I am going to roll at night. The screen change cannot be easier, a ten in that regard.
The loudness is in the average of its rivals on the road (in circuit I wear caps for the ears). Highlight that the touch of the inner lining is most pleasant. It looks like aging well, but it is a measure that only time can give.
Finally, the most remarkable thing about FF807 Dragon is the breadth of vision, the result of its low chin design and that allows a really outstanding visual field. It may not be so important on the track, but it is circulating, especially in the city, being able to do without the use of a Jet helmet, which will always protect worse than an integral helmet.
