The founding of new brands in China has become an everyday occurrence. Scoox with its first electric model, the ZeroX7 is an example of this trend. However, far from being carried away by conventions, this young company is committed to going off on a tangent with a ground-breaking design, as well as the use of unusual elements in the category.
Scoox ZeroX7 in detail
After the official presentation of the brand and its first model, the Scoox bosses seem to be very clear about where they should direct their efforts and what the philosophy on which their future range should be based. Wang Yuzhougeneral director of the Asian firm, declared: “We don’t just make a motorcycle, but a cycling experience that allows passion to flourish on the road.”
Beyond the words and sticking to the data offered so far by the brand, it seems that the ZeroX7 is developed from a main platform that they have named “Zebra Bone”. The “Zebra Ridge” frame and the striking front suspension system with lateral single arm and independent shock absorber are attached to it, joining this with the steering pivot.
For now there is no data on the battery capacity or the autonomy that the Scoox ZeroX7 can offer us. We do know, thanks to our colleagues at Motorrad, that this first model of the Chinese brand declares final dimensions of 1,860 mm long by 770 mm wide. The distance between axles would be 1,300 mm. On the other hand, his 3,000 W power motor is capable of propelling the whole to close to the 90km/h.
In terms of equipment and finishes, it has a 7-inch TFT screen equipped with connectivity, monitoring and alarm functions, all combined with the main electronic system, “Zebra Mobility”. It is likely to also feature dual-channel ABS and traction control. This same technical base will also be used in the future Scoox C and S Series.
Regarding its design, its compact and honeycomb shapes stand out, along with the shapes of its seat with an “open-air” structure, adjustable in height, or the headlight, integrated under the smoked front windshield. Also notable is the possibility of raising or lowering the seat post along with the management controls.
Scoox has already announced that the launch in China of the new ZeroX7 will take place during the first quarter of next year. The brand is already working on opening branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu. For now, it is not clear whether in the not-too-distant future they will try to expand their commercial activity to international markets, either independently or in association with leading business groups within the sector.
